Stop it.

It is not a perfect movie, but it's the one that was made and released. People are free to hate it and complain about what SHOULD have happened, as we all did for TLJ.
I fully understand the "I wish they would have done this instead" movement, I've had thoughts like that going all the way back to ESB. But, that is all fantasy now. We have a set of films that lays out the path some more.
I'm trying to discuss this last film, not what it could have done, but what it did.

See.
It's terrible needing to use your brain to watch a movie in 2019. Terrible.

You need some rest, you’re melting the frick down my man.

You're having a fit because people don't agree with you.
You need to process that on your own.

Look, I thought TLJ was horrible, and seriously contemplated not even catching this one. I skipped Solo in the theater because of that.
In the end, I decided that I liked the OT enough, and the recent Mandalorian series enough, that I would go ahead and see this movie in the theater.
it doesn't have to appeal to you for me to like it, and vice-versa.
I DON'T think it's perfect, and it's probably not the direction I would have went for a sequel. I really would have liked to have seen other Han/Luke/Leia adventures, with them younger (and thus, they would have had to have been recast).
This actual movie does a decent job of wrapping up this current trilogy, of explaining a lot of the TFA questions. It was entertaining, and visually fun.
And as far as fitting into the greater lore of the Star Wars universe- I've seen every primary movie on first release at the theater (yeah, I skipped Solo, caught it at home). As a young adolescent, I could probably have written an extremely detailed account of each OT movie, and each novelization of the films, including the differences between book and film.
I don't need a link to somebody else trying to examine how this fits into it, I can do that myself, to my own satisfaction.
If you want to nitpick things, there are holes going back to the Original Trilogy. The biggest being that Vader, who is all about family and is willing to kill the Emperor and throw everything away to save his son (Luke), and who can sense shite through the Force, tortures Leia (his daughter) not just once, but TWICE, and never picks up a damn thing.
If you're willing to accept the "oh, he didn't know and had no reason to suspect" answer, then- there ya go. Nobody had reason to suspect Palpatine was still pulling strings, either.

Nah man, laughing at the mental gymnastics you have to go through to justify the slop that is Palp being alive/Exogol.

You had to post a YouTube video because you're incapable of making a useful point on your own.

For once, I gotta back Buckeye on this one. Discuss the flaws/merits from your own point of view. Saying "watch this" and giving a link to somebody else doing that doesn't further your own point, it just means you agree with someone else.
The only melting going on here is from those who can't seem to accept that people might like this film. Somebody says "I saw it and liked it", and you see a string of replies with "oh come on now, how could you?"
There was even that one guy pages back, who got upset when people said they'd read the spoilers and didn't like what they read, but were still waiting on the film itself before saying it was good/bad.
This is a light, action/space fantasy. You can think parts are absurd as hell, and still love it.

You're so mad that not everyone hates this movie.

If someone enjoyed it that’s fine I guess, just don’t try to say this is any kind of good movie. Half of it makes no sense and the other half is a rushed mess. The mental gymnastics one has to go through to explain how basic things like clearly dead characters magically being alive tells you all you need to know.
That y’all are hanging on to me linking a video shows how desperate y’all are to defend this gobbledygook.

Apologies. I didn't know that you were new to movies.

I don’t hate it. It had some nice moments. It’s just objectively not a good movie. It’s not even entirely their fault bc of TLJ. You just see people so desperate to prop this thing up bc it gives Rian the finger, as if that’s all it needed to be
