Guys, I’m sure y’all have discussed this, so I apologize, but why are they not having bb after dark this season?

Seriously? That was the speech they were pissed about?

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Just watched. I was cringing right before he started his speech and expecting the worse. And then Memphis proceeded to deliver that very benign and very true comment to both.

Wow. Smh. What a joke that this was made into an “issue”.

I haven't seen the episode yet but I'll say this - the people on the outside of the house are making a much bigger deal out of this than those inside the house.

It got a lot of attention after the fact on Friday night but not much has been said about it since, especially on Sunday. Even Friday night, David played up the fact that he was emotional and hurt and used it as strategy. There were a few times that he would cry and when whoever he was talking to left the room, he'd look at the camera and smile. He's proven that when he needs to, he'll fake tears in an effort to gain support from the other HGs.

David even told Memphis this morning during their one on one that the nom speech motivated him and nearly pushed him to winning veto. He didn't seem angry and was almost thanking Memphis for waking him up and pushing him to compete harder.

“David... you’re at the grownups table now... and buddy, you have to prove yourself.”

Anyone who can warp that into controversy.... smh

Janelle/Kaysar are scrambling. Kaysar wants Janelle to talk to Memphis in the morning about using the veto. They wish they could've backdoored Cody this week. They're also looking to form a new alliance:

quote:

Jan/Kay talking about bringing Ian in as a part of a 7 person alliance. (Bay/Day/Xmas/NicA/Jan/Kay/Ian) Janelle says that Ian will be pissed when the alliance wants NicF on the block.

Janelle is about to have a one on one with Ian to discuss it.

Exactly, this is the same dude who stood up for Dan when people were attacking his religion, and now he’s some sort of pariah because he told a guy who got eliminated first in his season to step it up and earn why he was there?

Say it was a dickish thing to do sure, but the attacks on Memphis’ character and stuff is ridiculous.

Black Girl Magic is clearly going to be the theme of this season. After what we saw from last season in terms of helping Jackson along for victory I think its very obvious Bay or Day wins.

Jackson point blank told Kat(I think it was her) he wasnt going to play, but production guaranteed him Final 2 and we saw how he was able to cheat and so on. Combine productions influence along with other house guests being afraid to go against Black Girl Magic because of the current climate and this season seems incredibly predictable to me.

Its a shame too because I have been a loyal viewer of this show since BB4, but I am seriously wondering why I still bother.

The only issue I'll have is if you see HGs avoid putting Day/Bay on the block because of the feared backlash. Even this week, David has done enough to be evicted and yet it seems like everyone is ignoring the obvious reasons to get rid of him.

Janelle's attempt to create a wedge between Ian and Nicole F. didn't go over well:

quote:

Janelle asks Ian to come up to the upstairs lounge to talk. Janelle asks Ian how he feels about NicF with respect to this game. Ian says that the relationship that Ian has with NicF is similar to the relationship that Janelle has with Kaysar.

quote:

Janelle says how can you and I work together ? Ian says I do not see it right now. Janelle says Maybe mid game. Ian says it would not be wise to take action against him or Nicole F #BB22 #BBLF

quote:

12:08am: Janelle says who are the pairs? Ian says, Janelle and Kaysar, Me and NicF and Bay and Day, Janelle says also Cody and Tyler and Nicole F and Dani. Ian say it does not bother him. #BB22 #BBLF

Janelle thinks she/Kaysar have Bay, Day and Christmas on their side. She also just told Kaysar that the other side has both David and Ian, meaning they have eight votes if they have no one on the block.

quote:

Kaysar - we don't have Ian's vote. He'll just do whatever Nicole F. tells him to do.

quote:

Kay ask Jan if they have Kevin and she says prob not. Kaysar says that they are going to get picked off next week and that Ian and Enzo are not with them. He says NicA will go home, they have David. Janelle says it's so frustrating.

They agree the only way to save Nicole A. is to convince Memphis to put Kevin up and rally the votes to get him out. It's clear in this conversation that both of them realize how fricked they are.

AHM, have you watched the nomination speech yet? I know you lean more liberal than me and you’re more than likely able to center yourself better than I am. I really would like your opinion of the nomination speech.

Looks like we are about to see a formation of a Janelle, Kaysar, Dayvonne, Bayleigh and David alliance.

Kaysar and Da just had a big talk and Da is going to confirm for Kaysar that David isn’t working with anyone at all.

I haven't watched the episode but I skipped to the speech for the sake of commenting. Given the reaction of everyone I thought it was going to be much worse than it was. Bayleigh said countless things in season 20 that were far worse and yet nothing was ever said.
Nothing about what Memphis said to him seemed rooted in bigotry or even having anything to do with race. It had everything to do with David having played a handful of days in the game.

I mentioned it a few days back - David rubs a lot of people the wrong way when he acts like this is his first time playing the game. You have multiple runner ups, multiple winners and a ton of top fives in the house around you. You can't keep saying "can't wait to play my first veto comp!" or "I've never voted before!"
When you go on and on about how this is a new experience for you, people get tired of hearing it and you get comments such as "welcome to the grown ups table."

Fans of this show are the worst though. You give them the slightest thing to run with and they automatically spin it without acknowledging that it's a game. I'm sure David was upset but at the same time he was using his emotion and the emotions of others in order to gain votes and support.

David just told Day that while Nicole A was having a breakdown today David told Nicole A that he had the votes to stay.
Day cannot believe he would say that to her when she’s at her lowest point.
David doesn’t want to hear it.

Day says telling Nicole A He has the votes and she is going home could F him, and asks if he’s trying to go home.
Day decides to leave it as “it is what it is”, because David doesn’t want to talk about it.

Also worth pointing out one more time just how awful David is at this game. He is telling Cody that he knows there's a big alliance. He's telling one of Cody's closest allies that he wants Cody out. And now before veto even happens he's telling the other nom that he has the votes to stay.

He deserves to go home.

How is he on this season? I haven’t watched the last two seasons so that’s why I’m asking.

Last season's cast was extremely problematic and just all around awful people. They took out the three minority HGs in order to start the season.

David was evicted night one. They had a "camp comeback" comp where he was allowed back in the house but technically he wasn't part of the game. The first four evicted HGs had to compete to come back into the game. When David came back in the house, the majority alliance made a rule where the "camp comeback" players couldn't be in rooms when people who were actually playing the game were engaged in talks. It was bullying and there were some questionable things said throughout about David.

All of that said, he knew what was going on in the house even though he never really played the game for more than a night. His reads were good but he couldn't do anything with them. The fans pushed for him to come back because they thought he had the potential to do something if given the chance to play for more than day. Also I'm sure Grodner and Robyn Kass loved the idea of giving a second chance to the bullied black dude, especially given the social climate right now.

Why would you tell the other nominee that you have the votes?

All it would do is make them campaign harder

8/16 -

Nominations are staying the same, and Memphis has made that very clear. It left us with a day of not a whole lot happening.

Janelle and Kaysar are failing at every turn, and now realize that Nicole A is going home. I know people are big fans of Janelle and Kaysar (I am too), but they continue to play this game very very poorly on a daily basis. Nicole A was with them, and has also been close with Kevin. Janelle and Kaysar absolutely refused to try to work with Kevin, while he is basically alone. That has caused big problems, and took away a number for them. Janelle instead tried to bring Ian in, knowing full well he is with Nicole F. Ian shot that idea down very bluntly.

Now it seems Kaysar will turn his attention to working with David, since Nicole A is a lost cause.

David also informed Nicole A she is probably going home, which caused her to have a bit of a meltdown yesterday.

The Memphis alliance of six is controlling everything right now, despite not really trusting each other. None of them are really pleased with Memphis. Dani and Cody have also expressed concerns about Tyler.

I'm expecting two pretty dull days, as far as gameplay, as it seems to be a foregone conclusion that Nicole A will be leaving.

2 reasons:

1- David is clearly the worst player at this game in the house.

2- David likes Nicole A, knows she won't campaign against him, and wanted to give her a heads up. Even though he did it WAYYYYY too early.

Oh well.. I'd rather see David go but I'm not casting a vote....

I pray Kaysar or Janelle win HOH Wednesday... Just for the excitement of it all..

Having watched it now, I wouldn’t even say it was dickish.

We just watched all three episodes from last week last night, and Memphis made it clear all along he takes the All Star aspect of this season very seriously. He’s also been described by multiple people so far as being very intense and probably just no nonsense.

I don’t watch feeds but people here have said David makes it a point to talk about how it’s his first time voting, playing for veto, etc, so I can definitely see Memphis just being annoyed by that and making that a part of why he was nominated.

He did the same when he made him a have not, but I also noted he walked right over to him and gave him a high five and bro hug after the have not ceremony and was smiling and saying something to him probably along the lines of “just another first in the game for you to check off man”.

He also seemed a little pissed about Christmas saving Ian so he was probably just more fired up than expected because he had planned something big for Ian.

I’m actually pretty bummed that dumbass Christmas ruined everything. Ian going up and Memphis saying he’s doing it for revenge for Dan would have been great TV and made for a much more interesting week.

Instead he goes after the “rookie” and wallflower Nicole who has no allies and isn’t a threat in any way.

fricking Christmas

Regardless, yeah the Memphis stuff was totally overblown and I’m surprised people say the cast seemed offended. Maybe that’s just because David played it up, but like I said before I don’t blame David if that’s his only play.

I’d rather Nicole stay, she was a favorite of mine on that terrible season, but David has to use whatever play he has and if crying like a baby to gain sympathy is the only way to stay alive to win 500k there isn’t a person on this board that wouldn’t do the same

For the record, Memphis did nothing wrong imo.
