I was a fan of Captain America myself.
And Stark making fun of Thor Shapespeare-style was classic

Im going today. I already know about the credits, and I think that should make a much better movie for the 2nd movie.

Couple of fun facts:
1. The waitress in the yellow outfit that was shown twice during the battle (she is shown in the first trailer peaking out a window) and who gave the interview about Captain America is an actress by the name of Ashley Johnson. She worked with Joss Whedon on Dollhouse.
The second point contains a spoiler so if you don't want a crucial plot point ruined, then do not scan down:
2. Thanos was played by another actor that has worked with Whedon. His name is Damion Poitier and he's worked with Whedon on Firefly and Dollhouse before. This also isn't his first rodeo in a blockbuster. If you saw Star Trek and remember the scene where Kirk and Cho's character fight the Romulans on top of their drill bit, he's the guy who gets roasted by the fire.

Cloudy and tepid in Stuttgart. It's funny looking out your window and seeing everybody running their fans and leaving windows open when you've lived in San Antonio before lol

Spoiler
One of my favorite Hulk moments is when he's on the heli-carrier and the jet starts shooting him. He just turns and gives that pilot a mean look and the pilot's eyes crack me up. He's thinking, "Oh........ shite."

I loved it. It's definitely my favorite comic book movie of all-time and I'm stunned Whedon was able to pull all those personalities together in such a fantastic, entertaining way.
Also want to recognize Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), who was an extraordinarily fun character that I had no idea would be so entertaining. He stole damn near every scene he was in.
SPOILERS
The Loki beatdown at the end drew the loudest cheer I've ever heard in a theater...whole place went crazy. Another surprisingly effective joke was Thor's "He's adopted" line on the ship. Got a huge laugh.

Dollhouse? That was the little girl from Growing Pains.
Also the minion of Thanos that talks to Loki in the beginning that is Alexi Denisoff who worked with Whedon on Buffy and Angel. He is married to Alyson Hannigan who plays on How I met Your Mother with Colbie Smolders who played Maria Hill in Avengers. And that is 6 degrees of Joss Whedon.

I clearly had too high of expectations for The Avengers. The several jokes that did hit couldn't overcome the rest of the corny dialogue, I found myself laughing at the lame one-liners from every actor other than Downey Jr., Ruffalo, and Renner. I'm not a huge comic book fan, but I did get the impression that it was a true comic book movie. Not a great film but one people will love.

Thor and Hulk are now my favorites
The ending credits of them all sitting in that dinner eating a burger were money, they didnt even talk because they were too tired they just ate and looked at each other

Every marvel movie has something after the credits... You've been doing it wrong if you don't wait

Hulk wake up Iron Man after War was over. This was so hilarious!

93% on rotten tomatoes and your review sounds like one of the fifteen rotten ones. Your one of those that tries to look too much into movies. However, I respect your opinion.

There wee so many things they could have done there that would all be hilarious. I thought Tony was going to be like "None of you better do CPR to me".

The heli-carrier was the most bad-as base ever. It's a carrier, and then it takes off and flies, oh yeah its invisible too. I was like a fanboy all over again when I saw that.
This movie is what a comic book movie should be.

I think they were eating falafel, as Stark had mentioned that earlier in the movie.

Well to be fair, the main credits scene for this one was with the big credits had roll, not the entire list of them. True story: The post credit scene was filmed a couple of hours after the Worldwide Premiere of The Avengers. The cast had no idea that they would be doing this or what they were filming. There were given their outfits and flown away. Twas a nice little addition by Whedon.
Hopefully this starts a be breakout of appreciation for Whedon. Dude took on the horror genre in full force and now has rewritten (literally) the new standard for big budget action movies. I'm kinda curious what James Cameron will do with 3-4 years and the best industry technology at his disposal to top that in the Avatar sequel.
