I had expectations that were set up by the first three seasons of the most incredible comedy in TV history w the smartest writing and jokes
This is decent after the first couple episodes but it is NOT the Arrested Development I came to love

Personally I'm not a fan of the format but I'm just glad I have something I can at least bitch about

is it because so far it has been a narrative of characters lives since the show went off the air?

Not only did 7 years pass, 7 years passed in the show as well.
They have done a great job and all the usual gags are there.
No idea what u were expecting

I am open minded, but I do not like completely cutting out the family interactions. Lindsey was non existent in the first two episodes, Tobias too. GOB had 2 scenes. the only good interaction they show are clips from the other seasons.
wtf is up with Lindsey's face?

Dont forget we get a movie after this. Should be epic and will give plenty of those interactions

Those aren't usual gags though they're rehashed jokes

Lindsey's episode is pretty solid.

Don't discuss the episodes in here or swamie will make fun of you

I was really into it again until the Lucille episode. It's too full of itself, but then again, so is Lucille.
seems like not enough story in that episode and too much reference to other episodes instead.

This isn't really the direction I was expecting. I kind of wish that every member of the family (minus Michael and George Michael) went their own separate way after the events of the finale. This is what I was expecting from the characters at the start of the season:
Michael: Went to Phoenix and started his own successful real estate company.
George Michael: Interning for a Fortune 500 company, but has an absolute psychopath as a boss and just takes it.
Lindsay: Basically abandoned the family and has become a gigantic alcoholic and pill popper.
Gob: Roadie who headlines with Franklin.
Buster: Completely inept and constantly fired from minimum wage jobs.
Tobias: Same old, same old, but separate from Lindsay and had a major falling out with Maeby due to the fact that she won't get him an acting gig.
Maeby: Big movie producer, but sexually frustrated due to the relationship with George Michal.
George Sr.: Involved in new deals with the Mexican Cartel.
Lucille: Just released from prison, and the event that starts the show back.

I would've been down for that for sure.
It almost seems like the writers have changed a lot. There are bits of the old show, but I understand this is the new show as well. The humor is lacking greatly from the first run. Still fun though.

I am on the 2nd Lindsey episode (Number 8) and I am not nearly as disappointed as a lot of people in this thread are.
I mean it's 7 years later and we got 15 more episodes of AD. The writing isn't quite as witty but it's still 10 times smarter and funnier than anything on TV.
I just hate that the first 6 episodes had so little Gob but I understand why they shot them this way because most of the cast had other projects and the scheduling didn't work out to do it full cast style like the regular show.

I'm on the Tobias episode, it's great. I do like that everything is so well connected between the episodes, but yea, I fricking miss gob.
