Dallas was being turned into an egg in Alien.

The correct answer is all methods are valid.

The William Gibson script for 3 would have fleshed out Hicks, Newt, and Bishop more as they dealt with essentially an outbreak on a space station where drones could be produced from facehuggers produced by a new queen or from a plague. Ripley gets written out as seen enough horror and sent off in the lifeboat by Hicks before she can wake up and not having enough time to put newt under.

Oh, I also didn't expect James Franco to receive almost no film time and die five minutes into the film.

Yeah I thought that was weird. But those two prologues they released leading up to the movie explained a lot. Plus there were leaks that Franco was not in the movie at all

This is what I was thinking. "There's no way trained crew members would have done ANYTHING they did once they started coming across the pathogen.

Anyone want to educate me on why the xenomorphs are characterized as the perfect organism in several of the movies?

When Tennessee's wife locked the two in the medical bay and wouldn't let them out, I thought finally someone is acting with a little common sense. Of course, then she pretty much immediately gets a gun and goes into the medical bay herself. Sigh.

Tough, persistent, problem solving, hard to detect.

It suffers from conservation of ninjitsu. One ninja by himself can wreck armies.
An army of ninja can be eradicated by a couple of idiots.

The 80s now make sense to you.

Did you know that was David running out to the rescue ship towards the end, or did you think Walter got the best of him?

I think most knew a twist was coming. The movie did a decent job of trying to hide it some by having David cooperate with Daniels and Tennessee during the final fight, and the end in the sleep pod was a pretty good scene. I liked how it showed her heart rate skyrocketing up and then starting to fall when hyper sleep was activated.

Based on this Daniel Larusso should have never wiped out Kobra Kai

Showing the hand to the knife gave it away, imo.

Also, where the frick was the nail hole under David's chin? I thought that would be how she found out.

The ending was boss, imo though.

I really enjoyed it. Don't go into it thinking everything will be explained but it's good.

The only thing I walked out wondering was exactly the same thing:

quote:

One thing I really didnt understand was how david created the xenomorph eggs. I get he used engineers for most of the experimentation. I thought maybe the alien from Shaw would have been a queen but they never went any further after the reveal.

Glad I wasn't the only one who was left wondering where the hell these eggs came from, unless David engineered them. He did say he had a passion for genetics and creating hybrids. But something had to lay those eggs...right? Maybe a reveal in a future movie?

The only conclusion that I can come to, is that the embryo we see at the end, when cultivated and grown, becomes the egg with the face hugger in it. Not sure though.

Never thought of that. Interesting.

And I guess at some point life would take over and xenomorphs that are born would have genders, a la the Queen in Aliens. Then let them lay the eggs.

Spoilers below.

I disliked it. I didn't want another Alien movie that always ends the same way. I wanted to see the movie Shaw was talking about in the last movie. Find the creators and get some answers. That might have taken some thought but the use the same formula as always. How is there any other living thing in the universe with these highly successful creatures killing every thing they see. Did every Progenitor ship have Alien eggs? The crashed ship and the story David told didn't make sense. If he landed how did he crash? Had he already killed Shaw?

Questions? Did David somehow cause the original ship malfunction? The crew were a throughly undisciplined lot. Why send a weak second in command? We have drones in 2017 so why don't they have drones in 2104?

I think I'm done with this franchise. The story doesn't advance.

I think David used the plants/animals/insects of the planet to experiment on. The first weapon we saw shot out of pods. So he possibly cultivated some plant to host the face highers. The seem to open like a flower.

Yes. He lies when he first meets the expedition team.

The Covenant? What malfunction? Not trying to be rude, I just don't remember what you're talking about.

This is what I thought of as well. Although Kracka's theory makes sense too.

The incident at the beginning of the movie after the solar sails deployed. There was a pulse that fried some of the ships systems. They then find the signal that causes them to go the planet David was on.
