I hope you're wrong, but, unfortunately, I think you're right. It will go down as, substantively, the worst film to ever win Best Picture.

Is he up for best lead actor this year? I hope the award goes to Bridges or Renner. I don't particularly care for Clooney's acting even without his politics.

Yea, Avatar does not deserve to win.

Yall are reading too much into the Clooney thing. He's probably just trying to be funny in his own way. Not saying he's succeeding.
And Dan you're nuts if you think anyone but Waltz had a chance to win.

I'll disagree with you only because of Crash. But I thought Avatar was a mediocre film without the special effects. The villains were so one-dimensional, it was ridiculous. Cameron might as well have made them cartoon characters.

The Hurt Locker has Best Picture locked up. Bet.

John Hughes made some awesome movies.

A John Hughes tribute just feels so out of place at a stuffy event like the Oscars.

I'm quite aware of the "miles of crappy movies" to win best picture. However, Avatar was that bad of a film. I honestly can't think of a film that has won that was worse that Avatar.

yea that was a good montage. good to see the brat pack together again!

I don't really think the Oscars are stuffy. It's an end-of-the-year industry award show. It's just sort of boring for outsiders.
