Nice list. I'd go with some of the oldies, too, for sheer creep value; such as:

Curse of the Demon (scary/supernatural/occult)
Cat People (old and the newer Kinski remake)
Nosferatu (original silent and newer remake)
The Uninvited (old Ray Milland ghost story)
I Walked with a Zombie (creepy)
Werewolf of London (bw oldie)
Dracula (Bela Lugosi)
Freaks (bw oldie; absolute creep-out)
Dracula's Daughter (bw)
Psycho (Hitchcock's classic)

and
Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (fun)
Ghost Busters 1 (fun)
Beetlejuice (fun)

I heard that originally each Halloween movie was supposed to have a different focus and not be about Michael Myers. I don't know how true this is but I'm glad it didn't go that way.

Any of y'all seen the Biography channel doc on Halloween? Interesting stuff. One, it was originally envisioned as a baby sitter hirror film and John Carpenter was nor all that fired up to do it. But the producer had seen Assault on Precinct 13 and--you know what? frick it. Everything I'm about to say can be found on imdb. But the coolest thing is that Michael myers' mask was a William Shatner as Cpt Kirk mask painted white.

The Beast Must Die. Terribly cheesy horror/blacksploitation film, but a damn good werewolf flick. I watch it every single time it comes on AMC
