A lot of references to Rocky in this series.

I like Silver's accountant or whatever saying "do you know how much money you've wasted on karate dojos?"

Just binged the whole thing this evening. I liked it. I thought the brawl at the end was perfect. I honestly thought this was it. I had no idea it was continuing on. I’m not sure what’s going on with Miyagi’s past. Hopefully it’ll serve a purpose.

I just binged all 5 episodes. The series is starting to fall off, hopefully the last 5 episodes bring it to a fitting conclusion as this has been a good show. Johnny is the best of all the characters.

I love the series, but I think they are making fun of themselves

Also it’s funny how they just go back and forth to Denmark or Norway or wherever it was. They just told the wife to get the kid on a plane and Johnny flew home to see how his girl was and right back

Who’s paying for all of this? Those are 2-3k a piece. Especially the black kid last minute.

I went ahead and started a rewatch from episode 1 and into season 5 now. It has its ebbs and flows for sure. At its heart the show is about Johnny and it is at its best when it’s focused on him. One of the most memorable in my mine is a drunken Daniel coming to him for advice. The “stuck in the 80s/slow to adapt to modern culture/dumb Johnny” bits never grown old.

I just started a rewatch too and agree that when the show is centered on Johnny, and he’s not acting comically stupid, is the best parts of the show.

Further, the episodes when Johnny and Daniel actually bridge the gap and get along is really the best stuff. The first season “test drive” episode, where they almost brawled before breakfast and then started getting along because of REO Bandwagon, was good shite.

Or the forced “double date” at the Mexican restaurant in season 2. I always love those scenes, and then get annoyed when they inevitably have a falling out.

Season 6 has been great so far. Especially Part 2 with the Sekai Taikai was just an epic 5 episode run (Robby vs Kwon my favorite fight of the entire show).

Cant wait for Part 3 and the finale!
