No need to post NO GAME SPOILERS in the Last of Us threads

This show marginally follows the game and that's being generous.. The kiss between Ellie and Dina happened when they found Eugene's, weed lab and it was in a basement, they spent a ton of time on the attack of Jackson that didn't happen, Ellie was never injured and in the hospital, and the whole gay bill episode when it was a letter and some magazines in the game. I could go on but the game and the show are similar in name only.
It's a good show if you didn't play the games but if you have its a WTF moment.

You mean it isn't a frame by frame screen production of the game? Who would have guessed.
Also, board definitely needed another thread so RollTide1987 has another opportunity to call Bella Ramsey a human foot.

Half the show makes up things that are not in the game, 25% spends an entire episode expanding on things that were minor in the game, the parts they got right the expand to things that were in the game but not to the extent the game shows.
The things the put in the show that were not in the game could have been spent using the source material. It's obvious the are using the name to create what they want regardless of the game.
As I said it is a good show just not a representation of the game.
There is a reason it is getting review bombed all over the place.

I'm not saying you're wrong, and I haven't played the game, but seems like both are at least partly his baby.

Well no shite. They are finding ways to show the story beats that are covered in game dialog scenes (not cutscenes) in ways that arent just 2 people walking around an empty city chatting with each other.
Its sad how impatient tv viewers are these days. I get that everyone has a tik tok attention span but people complaining about plot development 3 episodes into a 9 episode season seems premature. You dont know what is gonna show back up later in the season.

Show me where in the game Jackson got leveled and Ellie spent three months in the hospital and had to have a community vote to leave? Like I said good show but not true to the game.

Jackson getting leveled serves the purpose of the story in explaining why Jackson cant spare a bunch of people to go hunting for Abby's group.
The 3 month break explains why they have to go to Seattle rather than catching up with them on the road and also gives time for other stuff to happen in the story BEFORE Ellie gets to Seattle (such as a very key plot point with Mel).
At minimum 2 months passed in the game between Joel being killed and Ellie making it to Seattle as well so this seems like a pointless nitpick

Again good show material, just not game material.
Why can't you understand that I said it's a good show, just not a good representation of the game?

Respectfully you have not played the game, it does not come even close to the game play. I don't ask for it to be exactly like the game just don't waste time adding stuff that was not even in the game.
Edit
Who would not like to see Leeroy Jenkins in a movie, cracking eggs training his raid.

Human foot? More like an aborted fetus.

So you wish this tv show was much shorter and more tedious?

If it was modeled after my gameplay, we would spend 75% of the season looking for duct tape in every nook and cranny so I can upgrade my weapons.

Yeah for real. All i can think is he doesnt realize this is stretching another season. They are trying to foreshadow ellies violent side so it doesnt feel like a Dany turn in game of thrones like all the show watchers complained about.
I listen to the podcast and they do a good job explaining the changes. I know the show is gonna be faithful to the game so I am just enjoying the ride. We will get there and we get some stuff that we didnt get in the game.

Duct tape doesn't upgrade the weapons....well, the melee weapon, sort of, but "parts" upgrade all the others.
To OPs point, they have to fill dead space with story that the game doesn't have to because you are playing and running around shooting shite and scavenging.
And yes, there is plenty in the game that can spoil the show for people.
And it was pretty plainly stated in the game that Bill was gay and was "partners" with Frank. Sure, the show spent an episode telling Bill and Frank's story and its usefulness to the show can be debated, but they have to fill that space somehow.
I haven't watched the 2nd season yet as I am rewatching season 1 with my wife, but the heart of the 1st game is represented in the show, and for me, that matters.

Apparently mentioning a POV change in the game, that may not happen in the show, is a "pretty big spoiler' and ruined some kid's show experience
