This was an awesome episode.
I don't think the laughing from walt was him going nuts...I think he's at the point where it's all just so absurd. Not only did his wife sleep with this man but she just paid him off with the money walt earned from making drugs.
He's pretty much royally fubar and he knows it. There isn't anything else to do but laugh.

What I don't understand is why Walt hasn't left a sealed letter with a lawyer that Gus doesn't know about. In that letter he lays out everything. The lawyer has instructions to mail it to the DEA if Walt disappears or if any of his family members are harmed. Then Walt gives a copy to Gus. This should have been done as soon as the trust between the two was gone. Sure it would piss Gus off even more but I don't see a downside.
And Walt could still play that hand. Such an envelope could be held by anyone with instructions upon Walt's death; it wouldn't have to be Saul so killing Saul wouldn't solve Gus' problem. Hell Walt could make an anonymous tip with a disguised voice to the DEA about Gus' operation. Of course Gus would likely rat him out as well but it would save Walt's life and his families'.
However it plays out, one thing for sure this show would not be he same without Walt/Cranston.

but is it possible that Jesse and Walt's fighting has been an act- a big scheme to make Gus think he has sucessfully turned them against each other?
That would be awesome.I never would have thought things would have turned out like this.No Heisenburg and Jesse out of the two of them showing the Cartel the Recipe.
Hope Heisenburg appears in the finale.

I'm not sure he can. Gus still has the problem of Hank which he can't live with. If Walt can find a way to get Hank off the trail then I could see Walt going to Gus and saying - "I want a $3 million severance package. If not this letter gets mailed by someone you do not know of. If you pay me then I vanish from the face of the earth forever."
Of course Gus would know that blackmailers usually ask for more and there would be nothing to prevent Walt from mailing the letter after he vanishes. Except maybe Gus could have Hank killed to retaliate.
It will be interesting regardless of how this ends.

Unbelievable episode. The image of Walt laughing under the house has stuck with me. Can't wait to see what happens next.

The most interesting twist for me in this show has been the role reversals of Walt and Jesse. They have both saved each others lives so they are even in that regard but Jesse knows that he owes his current status to Mr. White's formula. As inconceivable as it now seems with Jesse in the driver's seat, I think Jesse will see Gus for what he is, a cold blooded murderer, and in the end he will use that poison in the cigarette to take Gus out. If that's the way it goes down, it will be interesting to see things play out with Mike.

If by "cold blooded" you mean hesitant, racked by guilt, and doing it only when his life is in immediate danger (and wanting to do it to child murderers), you'd be correct.

The most important thing to take from this episode is that Jesse realizes that he's never goinjg to be a priority for Gus. Walt would kill people to protect Jesse. Gus won't ensure enough doctors for he AND Mike to definitely survive if things had gone poorly. I think Jesse is going to realize that Gus is just using him, like he's used Mike all of these years, and he's not really important.

LMFAO. Is that what it said in the episode description? That's hilarious.

Wasn't it more a kitchen island than a wall?

ya, this is what i think will be the end of Gus...maybe a situation where it seems like Gus is about to kill Walt and/or Jesse, and they turn the tables on him like "hey Gus, remember that cup of coffee you just drank?"

And oh the irony after Gus just poisoned all his cartel enemies.

solid point. i think most people think that Jesse was impressed that Gus had his blood type and medical info prepped in advance. I think Jesse will actually remember the doctor treating Mike has a low priority. If Mike is such a low priority, where is Jesse on that list? Walt is an a-hole to Jesse, but he has gone to extreme lengths to save his arse too. I think the season ends with Jesse killing Gus.

Couple points:
1. Skylar has done nothing but screw up Walt's life. She's cheated on him, made bad financial decisions, and then gave his money away. She's a problem and should probably catch a bullet. Before her crap, all Walt wanted to do was stuff money in the crawl space and be done with it.
2. Walt's reached the point of insanity- basically realizing there is nothing you can do, everything is bad. Basically, since he's backed into a corner he is going to come out fighting. I'm not sure how but I think he wins this battle but loses the overall "War" in the series.
3. Jesse is actually being rational for once and not selfish. I like the turn his character has taken, more mature and making sound decisions. He doesn't seem as needy anymore.
4. Skylar is no longer hot and has a very little Value added to the series. If she was Cougar hot I could probably overlook her poorly written character.

Does anyone think that Gustavo's past in Chile will come into play at some point?

And he finds this all out right when he's reached a point of desperation so bad that he's going to forge identities and disappear forever.
The whole season the importance of his family returned to him, since he had somewhat lost sight of why he started this racket in the first place.
And then poof, it all vanishes before him.

*possible spoiler*
He signed on to play in another series this Spring...he's dead in the next two episodes or written out.

Ted isn't dead..they went to great lengths to avoid saying 'he's dead' when the 2 bozos were talking to saul when they could have easily said those words. i'm guessing he's a veggie too.
so follow me..if that is true..any chance ted and the old geezer end up in the same long term care facility before the series ends?
that might be an interesting plot twist..2 people who can't talk but both really angry trying to get revenge.
just a thought...
