I'm still reserving opinion. I wasn't crazy about the original concept of the 2019 movie, but I completely got it/enjoyed when I finally broke down and watched it.
"Jukebox musical" is still likely to be a hurdle I can't clear, but like I said, reserving opinion. I will almost certainly watch it once at some point.
Even Joker (2019) is not a film I'm stoked about rewatching, and I grade the film an "A". It felt like a "one and done" like Requiem for a Dream or Schindler's List.

looks awesome, and i cant wait. i loved the first one as well. but i gotta say, it still feels a little hollow without there being at least the hint of Batman. i mean are they really just going to keep making films about the Joker with no Batman?
i never thought Heath Ledger's Joker would be touched, but they have actually managed to create a Joker character that is, if not equal, at least pretty damn close. and not a copycoat either, this Joker is unique in his own way....it will be a shame if he is never introduced into a shared universe with Batman. like...what's the point? without Batman, it's just a movie about a crazy guy.

That’s the point. Exploring the character of a crazy guy.
I think if they introduce Batman, it won’t be a caped crusader. Probably some new version of him since they’re really taking creative liberties with it all.

i know, i get that. that's why i said it makes it feel a little hollow, like they tagged the Joker name on there just bc they knew it would sell more. i'm not really criticizing it. i loved the first movie and this one looks awesome. but it still feels not quite right.

Trailer looks great. I’m very excited about this I really think it’s going to be terrific.

She's the same person in all her Roles in a similar way to Winona Ryder.
Winona is the same girl with he same voice and mannerisms in MR deeds as she is in Stranger Things.
gaga will just be Ally from a star is born doing a few unique HQ things.
Not saying it's a bad thing... just think you're giving her a bit too much credit.

I mean, maybe? What sample size are you pulling from here?
She did not at all the same in House of Gucci as she did in A Star Is Born.

Looks promising- still confused about the "musical" aspect. It can be done well (Chicago and Cabaret for example) but I'm worried it's just going to feel completely out of place

This movie would not have made half as much money or gotten nearly as much acclaim if it had a different name. King of Comedy is better in every way.

The target demographic is people who have the ability to think at depths greater than a nanometer. Assuming it's only for emo folks probably excludes you from that to begin with.
