Toho Films apparently wouldn't release the rights for Rodan or any of the other classic monsters Godzilla has fought over the years.
This monster is pretty much Rodan though.

However the director says of this movie is a hit he will try to make a Destroy All Monsters type movie. So we could see more TOHO monsters later

I've always felt Ghidora was overrated. Gozilla as a villain >>>>>> Godzilla as a hero
I'd rather see Mothra, Rodan, Mechagodzilla or Anguirus.

They kind of spoiled the main monster he fights in the toy line that leaked out early. Ill post the link or pics if anyone wants to see it. You can also find it in a google search I imagine
