Beauty and the Beast sucked because Emma Watson can't sing. Which was unfortunate, because other than that it's one of the best live action remakes they've done. She's the main character so her lack of singing ability ruins the entire film.
Not sure why one of the actors tried to claim he played a gay character in it, but it was pretty clear after initial audience viewings that it wasn't in the film anywhere.

And I said Disney making comic books woke. You then cited their live action.
I have always said my issue with this topic is that it is such lazy criticism. Take Taskmaster. He's an awesome comic book character. It was exciting when he was rumored for the Black Widow movie. Then we find out Taskmaster has been gender swapped. Everyone said that ruined the character. Then the movie came out. Would Taskmaster been any better as a character if they had him be male? If it was his son that was disfigured by Black Widow instead of daughter. No, the character still would have been shite. It was piss poor writing that made Taskmaster suck, not just because "eww girls".

You have to dig deep to find some comic justification for this. Over 60 years you can probably find some obscure storyline to justify just about anything. But everyone knows who the silver surfer is and what he looks like. all Disney had to do was give us regular Silver Surfer. Everyone with two brain cells to rub together understands Disney is ate up with identity politics and needs a female surfer for checkbox reasons, not story reasons.

Because 'woke' isn't simply about race, gender, sex.. SLJ and IA are freaking established good actors. Great, even. They brought weight and gravitas to the roles. If done selectively, and with purpose, it can make sense. But as the MCU progressed, we saw it get more and more silly.
Black Widow, as I've said, went from being a covert spy and assassin to a full on infantry soldier. Which was ridiculous. They even made reference to it the movies, once at least, maybe twice, that I recall. But they needed her face in the big moments, so there she goes, fighting along side Cap, Thor and everyone else.
(And then of course we got the All-Star Girl Boss shot in End Game.. )
As for FF, this is almost certainly going to be Sue Storm's movie, and all the boys will be following her lead. Hope I'm wrong. But all signs are pointing towards that.

Find me some renders of her actual appearance. Then follow that up with what her actual portrayal will be like and how she will perform it.
You can’t because you have access to neither. I don’t really care because I never really gave two flying fricks about the F4 growing up.
If it’s good, it’s good regardless of if SS is male or female. If it’s bad it’s because they forced ploy instead of just writing a strong, well developed female portrayal.
And this is from someone who has thought the Mouse has shat out some real turds lately.
But by all accounts the guy in charge of this film loves the comics. So I’ll wait.

There's a progression, a story behind WHY Silver Surfer was first introduced, and what took place after. It makes sense, in the comic world. I have zero confidence that these movie writers with no real skin in the game have any talent or interest in making this story 'work'. To them, it doesn't matter. And you're their target audience.

Hard one to predict on the box office side. F4 has a big comic fan base but most of that group doesn’t trust the MCU anymore and as the leaks continue it may get worse and worse. Also take into account the previous movies, what’s the chances those fans come back again after being burned twice? Casting is shite, early leaks are very concerning but there’s hype around the movie. When you add in the competition around its release date, Superman, Jurassic World, It’s going to be interesting. If Superman and JW have legs that’s a big problem, if Superman bombs it’s a coin flip.

Yes. It was obvious a man played the character for the entire film. The "big reveal" wasn't believable because of this.
