EXCLUSIVE: #PaulMcCartney declined the hot seat at this year’s live roast on Netflix before the streamer turned to Kevin Hart:
“We did ask Paul McCartney at one point,” comedian Jeff Ross, the “Roastmaster General” and executive producer of the franchise, confirmed to Variety. “To me, that would be a fantasy roast. Paul McCartney doesn’t need anything, but a Paul McCartney roast would be good for the world. It would be so funny to me because he is so loved.”

I agree that it was overproduced. I think I jumped the gun in saying how great the roast was. The further in I got the more it kinda sucked. Too many duds for guests. Too much pre rehearsed performative garbage. The stupid shite with The Rock went on too long and went into an act that they both had practiced.

Shane and Tony were fantastic. They carried this shite show
Yes they did. They didn’t look too comfortable in La La land.
I thought Tom Brady did a great job given the material from Kevin roasting him.

Katt was cool but he should have told Kevin to frick himself
Would have made it much better. It was some made for tv bull shite.

I finally watched this and thought it was terrible.
Shane Gillis had some funny jokes, but people in the room hated him and when he didn't get the response he thought he would, he kind of got awkward. He also had some not great ones.
Tony Hinchcliff was the best I think. There were a couple other decent ones, but by and large it was stupid. Kevin Hart also can't stop just talking. Just sit there and take it. And there was way too many things rehearsed with him ahead of time.
Chelsea Handler and Tatyana or whatever her name was, were terrible. Katt Williams not far behind. The Rock was hammered.

I’m glad she got her shite pushed in
So does Chelsea Handler.

The way Tony went after Chelsea Handler felt more personal than just having fun at a roast.
Definitely. Shane too honestly. Shane said something to her about her focusing on him so much.
She was full of actual hatred, not humor, when it came to those two. Tony took it back to her.

Yes, too many paid non comedians reading a script…Hart didn’t seem genuine and too scripted in his replies like he knew all the jokes already
The real hatred between Handler and Tony/Shane was odd…
just went on too long and got stale
Pete Davidson just seemed sad and disconnected
Started off strong and there were some highlights, but as a whole not great and overproduced
