Seasons 2 and 3 blow it out of the water.

The end of season 2 was amazing

Also the composer from the original is coming back. I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does differently this time, since he got much better as time went on. Like I think he should revamp a few themes, like say Azula's, but definitely keep the original theme and the Avatar's Love. Korra's soundtrack blew the original's out of the water for the most part (save for the finale of course):

I don’t know if I want Watanabi as Iroh. I just don’t see him as goofy enough for that role. He absolutely needs to be in the show though.
Tagawa would be my choice for Iroh
Completely agree on Ozai though

I’d probably do Watanabi as maybe Zhao.
Also James Hong is the cabbage merchant. No doubt.

Wonder if they'll age up the characters at all, going to be weird seeing characters like Ty Lee actually be 14. Thankfully I was 16 when season 3 came out so I didn't feel that bad

but wtf they talking about here? Is this a dig at the movie I'm guessing?
Due in theaters in summer 2010, "Airbender" has already begun to face a bit of controversy over the casting of white actors like Rathbone, Ringer and McCartney to play Asian characters — a concern the actor was quick to dismiss. "I think it's one of those things where I pull my hair up, shave the sides, and I definitely need a tan," he said of the transformation he'll go through to look more like Sokka. "It's one of those things where, hopefully, the audience will suspend disbelief a little bit."

I like it but I don’t get why. What’s so interesting about telling it or what can be done different in order for it to need to be told in live action?
And before people take this the wrong way, the original Avatar the Last Airbender is some of my favorite storytelling ever. I love it. Just a little hesitant after M Night butchered it

Well Zuko was 16 and Aang was 12 during the three books. I think the actor that plays Aang will be around 12-14 when the show starts. We will probably get around 3 to 5 seasons which will have the majority of the cast over 18 in the last season.

I do find this to be a bit of a problem. The original series took place in like 10 months, and this is important, because the implication is that Aang would not be ready to face the Fire Lord and be killed. If you instead give Aang 4 years to master the elements, then there is something lost there in the tension.
I expect them to age up both Zuko and Azula (maybe make them twins instead) to 18, with Mai and Ty Lee being similar. I expect the other characters to remain the same age, at least at the start.

Also I’ll go a little bit further on the other seasons:
Season 2:
1) The Avatar State
2) Return to Omashu (make it Bumi’s actual debut)
3) Jet
4) The Blind Bandit
5) Zuko Alone
6) The Chase
7) Bitter Work
8) The Library
9) The Desert
10) The Drill
Season 3:
1) City of Walls and Secrets
2) Tales of Ba Sing Se
3) Appa’s Lost Days
4) Added Episode that focuses on Ba Sing Se 5) Lake Laogai
6) The Earth King
7) The Guru
8) Mid Episode between these that lets it air out more.
9) Crossroads of Destiny
Season 4:
1) The Awakening
2) The Avatar and the Fire Lord
3) Day of Black Sun
4) The Western Air Temple
5) The Firebending Masters
6) The Boiling Rock
7) The Southern Raiders
8) Sozin’s Comet
Dude slow the frick down
Every time I start to like you as a poster, you have to unleash your armchair director/screenwriter tendencies full force.
All that matters is that it will be better than the Dinesh D’souza version.
