Fun fact: The guy who plays Sailor is the author of the novel (Donn Pearce).
The "failure to communicate" line was not in the novel and Pearce was never a fan of it claiming a southern warden would never talk like that. He served two years on a chain gang so I guess he would know of which he speaks.

Cool Hand Luke is da bomb. I remember when it came out and it was the big hit of the day. It spawned many a character actor as well. Great cast. People would go to see it two or three times while it was still in theaters and then it had a great run at drive ins for a couple of years afterwards.
BTW, I posted a list (last week) of all the new releases this month by Netflix and Amazon and HBO, in January ... Amazon and Netflix are locked in a battle no doubt.
