Eight-episode series that dropped on May 14th. All episodes available.

Directed / produced by Mario Van Peebles.

quote:

A relentless LAPD cop becomes obsessed with taking down the master thief behind a string of daring heists and only one can come out on top.

92% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, but only 53% on the popcorn meter.

Anyone seen it who wants to offer any commentary?

I’ll check it out. This genre has been pretty good recently. Hasn’t had the drop off a lot of others have.

Courtney Kemp who did Power is the showrunner, so if you liked that, it’s worth a watch if you can get past some of the shitty acting. Not Tyler Perry bad, but it’s not on Power’s level either.

Also, if you’re a fan of the Wire, you’ll see some familiar faces.

I liked it. Definitely has a Power vibe to it. The shootout scene in the street gave me major Heat vibes.

The acting in the trailer was bad. I'm going to pass on this one.

I did not get the immediate feeling the acting was bad until seeing these comments.

The street shootout absolutely gave off Heat vibes. I thought the story line was intense and look forward to seeing what they do with Season 2 after the way they left Season 1.

I have a strong suspicion that Charlie is Styles' mother.
