I'm not a gamer, so never followed any of that. I did buy the game for my son this past Christmas and spent time watching him complete most of it. I thought it was pretty great. I'm not attached to Joel so my experience is different. My son's main criticism is the game is too long. But the gameplay is incredible.

He knew what he was doing when he made the 'creative choices'. But it gets worse. He lied and attacked anyone who revealed what the story was going to be. See, he KNEW it was going to piss fans of the1st game off, so he tried to hide it for as long as he could If folks knew, sales would have been hurt. So he attacked gaming magazines and Youtubers who told the truth about LOTU2.
Not opinion, all well documented, but continue to play dumb & pretend like none of this is happened.

I didnt buy the game on release because of the toxic YouTube shite i heard.
You saying they just told the truth is hilarious.
I finally bought the game when it was on sale around a year later for $30 and thats why i will never trust that crowd again. The game was nothing like their reactions made it out to be and was a really good game with a strong, although difficult, narrative. I guess being a 33 year old man when i played it allowed me to see past Joel's death, whereas the younger fanboys couldn't or they bought into the "its an attack on all males everywhere" mentality that was pervasive at the time.
