There's a good one... I think I would put it in my top 10 most fun movies.

Ocean's 11 is an incredibly "fun" movie. I also really like The Mummy as it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Some of you have gotten close but the correct answer is Con Air.

He gets a lot of hate, but damn Nic Cage can make some entertaining films. The Rock and Con Air are two of the most fun movies ever, and I even quite liked National Treasure.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil has transvestites, a gay old man, Voodoo, peole throwing parties at other people's houses, a man with enough poison to kill everyboddy in town, UGA, stereotypical white sotherners, a black catilian ball-what movie can match all of that fun?

Dawg I thought Jurassic Park and Snatch would get more hits.
I guess this is more of a Requium For A Dream fun crowd.

Certainly fun movies... this thread sets a pretty high bar with Fifth Element though.

I've been watching Farscape for about the past two weeks and it has me itching to see Fifth Element again. They are so similar in tone, that the sort of self-awareness I identified in Fifth Element is what caused me to latch onto Farscape even in the beginning (The first season starts off rather bland plot-wise).

I was skeptical even through most of season one because although I found it funny and the characters charming, the writing still wasn't as sharp as it could be.

But getting into the meat of season 2, with the actors having a palpable chemistry and the writers knowing all of their little nuances, it is truly hilarious and emotionally engaging at the same time.

It's somewhere on the agenda... There are a lot of Sci-Fi and comedy shows that I've been meaning to watch since I caved in and started paying for Netflix. And of course, I'll have to devote myself to The Wire at some point.

while the wire is the best show i've ever seen, red dwarf is still my favorite

sadly, its impact is much better for a 10 year old rather than a 27 year old. plus i have most of the eps memorized

I find the concept of The Wire repugnant on some level... The "seedy underbelly" doesn't interest me that much simply because corruption as a theme has become banal to me over time.

I'm sure my preconceptions will prove thoroughly misguided and I will enjoy it, though.

it has really good characters and, at heart, is about how all groups are/become corrupt in some way
