Jaws.
My favorite part in this short video is how they intended to associate music with the arrival of the shark, changing the tempo etc.
Yet we don’t actually see the shark until an hour and a half into the film… and when we do there’s no music so it’s even more of a shock and surprise.

Way too low. That movie isn't remembered today without the soundtrack. Small battles became epic with that score.
