Conan the barbarian. The score is so good it is as important as almost any of the characters.

The Mission. Probably the most important of any scores because music is an integral part of how the Jesuit gains the trust of the native tribe atop the falls. the music he plays for them is woven into the main score.

That scene caused me to be a Nina Simone fan. Watched that movie in high school when it was released in theaters. Great flick and her music made the scene.

For some reason I appreciate the answers more when music is not in any way related to the plot, it just happens to be very cool like here.

How the frick did the entire first page go by without mentioning the Lord of the Rings.

They hold concerts for playing just the fricking music with the movie in the background for fricks sake.

How or why did the tone here get angry so fast and without cause?

The background music is the only reason harry potter movies were so successful. Its a constant and attention keeper.

Good list.
But just for soundtrack and mood, I’d suggest “Thief” with James Caan.
And maybe “To Live and Die in L.A.”
