I don't think that was set in New Orleans. I'm pretty sure it was suppose to be in the swamp.

I got a good laugh out of the water boy even though some of the cuisine was a bit far fetched. I do know a few people that aren't far off from this guy

Yeah, that Farmer Fran character isn't very far off from people I've actually met. Funny, coming from a movie that was way over the top.

On the flip side of this thread, I have to say the scene in Easy Rider where they do acid in the cemetery and go watch a Mardi Gras parade was pretty accurate.

avenging force... with american ninja mike dudikoff and steve james... those two made some killer movies in the 80's... it wasn't the accents that were that bad, it was the local... the main car chase went from under the gno to city park to the paris rd bridge to canal st cemetaries then to the swamps... i'm sure every movie does that, wherever shot, and only the locals can see it...

I've just seen Heaven's Prisoners lately. I thought it was pretty decent - a lot of it takes place in New Iberia or somewhere like that. Yeah, some of it was lame in regard to Nola, but it was still interesting.

It does drive me crazy that we don't have air conditioning and only use ceiling fans in most movies.

It is funny how just blocks from civilization, there are alligators and wild voodoo orgies.

I wish they would just drop the attempts at cajun accents and go with southern accents. Even though not correct, it bugs me less than everyone in New Orleans being cajun.

Live and Let Die

Only 5 minutes of the movie takes place in New Orleans, but in those 5 minutes we have a voodoo queen, a jazz funeral and a soul cafe.

The boat chase through Houma was awesome though.

Hey buddy, leave me out of this one. The few places to "eat crawfish and drink brew" on the Lakefront are now longer there. There weren't very many places to do this fwiw.

IMO New Orleans is a stereotype, not sure what some want film-makers to do

that being said "the big easy" was the worst thing ever filmed here with "angel heart" a very close second

i thought they had some decent yat accents in it. John Goodman did a good job.

don't you think I know that by now, there frickin gone. but the point was when it was that way back in the day, it was a nice, refreshing thing, relaxed the hell out of me.

but you 2 wanna criticize, but don't have the guts to put up your list, btw, I'm still waiting on yours?
