You can be the one shot by Lafitte in the first episode.

too expensive to make for a story that on the surface doesn't have much appeal domestically and internationally.

isn't the whole point of a show to get under the surface to induce appeal

Oh, trust me, New Orleans from 1807-1815 is a very intriguing time period rife with stories.

I enjoy The Buccaneer but it is a bit dated.

I like the idea of a production like Rome, Deadwood, etc. I think most who have never even heard of the Battle of New Orleans would like it as well.

And why do you think those shows are gone? it was because they were too expensive to make. Only way it would get made if Nolan or Spielberg signed on to a decent script with the battle as the backdrop

I still think its a great backdrop for a dramatic series, would be nice if HBO did one.

Ratings didn't justify the expense. But I can guarantee that GOT is expensive as all hell and it's not going to get cancelled any time soon.

oh it would be ..... i do think it's more feasible than most of the shows because of the french quarter. But building ships that gimbal, all the period detail/costumes and the worrisome hurricane season would derail this project from being green lit.

wat? Are we not leading the industry in production now? I guess all of those projects aren't green lit because of hurricanes.

It's all about sales. If you have a good script/concept all you need to do is sell it.
