Take-off from the scenes thread. What scenes did this for you? Not really looking for cinematic mastery or award winners.

I'm talking about the unexpected. The unbelievable, and the surprising shite that affected you on a visceral level. The ones that caused you to laugh your arse off or jump out of your seat. Or even the ones that made you say..."Wow!"

I'll start (no particular order.):

Opening scene of "Jaws."

Cat scene in "Boondock Saints"

Girl crawling out of the tv in "The Ring."

Josey Wales flipping both of his pistols back when surrendering and turning the tables.

ET sick, discolored, naked, and in the ditch.

The appearance of the mothership in "Close Encounters."

The last scene of "Halloween." Psyichiatrist looking over the balcony or whatever it was and the body not being there.

The creepy people crawling on the ceiling thing in "Jacob's Ladder."

The killing of the "foul man" in "Dances with wolves." The one who had said earlier..."Someboby back East is sayin...'Why don't he write?'"

HAL 9000..."I can't do that, Dave"

The "frosting" in Zach and Miri...heh.

Neck snap that brought both paranormal movies togeather.

Happy Gilmore vs Bob Barker.

Alien belly-birth.

Just a sampling to get the idea across...

The old lady in The Shining. Who the hell did not cower in fear after that scene.

I'll give you one better in Jaws. When Hooper goes underwater and examines the damaged boat to see that fisherman's dead body .
