The story broke months ago yet Matt Damon is currently STILL in negotiations to portray the legendary Robert F. Kennedy in a biopic that already has Oscar written all over it. I would love to see Oliver Stone direct this in the style of J.F.K (1991) or Nixon (1995) but not in the style of W. (2008). I think Stone will have a much better decade starting with the Wall Street sequel.

Can you think of anyone else who could portray Kennedy besides Damon? I say give him the money he wants and let him play him because I certainly can't think of anyone else who could top Damon as Kennedy.

Didn't Bobby come out like 4 years ago?

Yes, which was great and had with out a doubt the best cast in cinema history but it was based more on the election and assassination. this RFK movie will delve deeper into the actual life of RFK.

Does every biopic about a former political figure HAVE to be directed by Oliver Stone?

Oliver Stone hasn't made a good movie in a long time - I'd rather not see him on this. I do think Damon is a good choice though.

Although I usually hate Damon as a leading man, and definitly as a hero, I think he is a shoe-in as Bob K.

The more recognizable names that are in a movie, regardless of their role and talent, the better the cast. FACT.

That must be what the cast of She's Just Not That Into You thought.

Same here.

ETA: What is so interesting about RFK that would make one want to watch a movie about him?

The only thing I can think of would be his crusade against organized crime and all those hearings he made the mob bosses sit through. Could be made into a decent movie. Other than that, I wouldn't be too interested.

True. Still ironic how he did that grandstanding when his family made its wealth from being bootleggers.

Hmmm Oliver Stone, Matt Damon teaming up for Kennedy family fluff propaganda piece. I think I'll pass Dan.
