I think pulling that off was super impressive. Yes, Ledger and Phoenix were awesome. But you can go to any genre and see great acting performances. We all knew Phoenix was already an amazing actor. But I don’t think we’ve ever seen a story arc like what MCU pulled off.
The other thing that boosts MCU is how fun (most) of the movies are. Some people, on this board especially, dislike all the humor, but they’re comic book movies. The MCU characters really lend themselves to a lighter tone, and audiences apparently appreciate it. Ragnarok was so much better than Dark World for example. GOTG wasnt a known commodity but the movie was just so damn enjoyable to watch. DC has since made Shazam and Aquaman with a less dour tone and audiences responded.
