The movie was filmed before the allegations came out. It premiered at Sundance in January 2023 with Disney/Searchlight as the domestic distributor. They dropped it and the filmmakers found a new distributor in October.

The movie was filmed in 2022, was shown at Sundance in January of 2023 and was supposed to release in December 2023, but then he assaulted his girlfriend in March of 2023 and they put it on the shelf.
The film's distributer gave the rights back to the filmmaker in 2024 and it looks like they found a new distributer.

Didn't they already make this movie with Kristen Stewart, only it was female bodybuilders instead of male?
