Damon and Carlton weren't that eager to either since they and much of the rest of the crew are not on good terms with Adawale. I think they will go out of their way to give roles to the actors they liked over the course of the show (Harold Perinnau for instance), but not for ones they disliked. If the writers really wanted Eko on the show, they could have gotten Adawale just before anyone since he was literally begging to be put back on the show. That was just a polite way of saying to the press that Eko is basically the only main actor not returning to the final season.

Thanks for the 411. I wasn't aware of all the backstory with him and the producers.

i think a lot of that stems to the fact that he gave trouble to the writers and crew.

Thought he was bigger then the show.

Adawale would bitch and moan to the writers and call them constantly about his arc and wanted complete control over what his character did. Terry hated which direction his character went in Season 2, but he didn't bitch and moan constantly and refuse to do things he didn't like about his character.

I really wish the first choice Lance Reddick would have been able to do Eko, but he was busy filming the Wire at the time. He did become Abaddon, but then went to Fringe. Something hit me the other day that Abaddon was probably initially planned for Zoe's role in Season 6.

She wanted to return for LA X but wasn't able to at the time due to her filming another film. She did give Damon and Carlton the dates when she would be done though which makes it likely she will return in the final season.

I mean, what can they really do with him right now? He isn't a candidate and he doesn't want to get off the Island. All he can do now is wait until MIB to reveal his true colors in order to attack, which happened last episode.

They could probably have him be more active other than sit back and follow orders, (although that is part of his story). At the very least a few more one liners.

But also, I don't understand the complete absence of Richard, Ben, and Miles. It will be a good 4 episodes without them. Maybe that will be clearer next week, but seems very odd.

Did anybody hear or read a rumor about Charlie appearing maybe in the finale?

Aside from one, I'm avoiding all finale spoilers, but it would shock me if he wasn't in the final episode. If I had to bet on a dead non-series regular being in the final episode, it would be Charlie (him and Juliet).

I agree with you on Hurley. What if he becomes like the new Richard?

Not sure about Richard. The producer podcast was interesting. Damon said "if he is still alive" when referring to him in the finale. Sounds like he is gonna be offed.

Not sure about Kate either. Other than that, gotta agree with all that.

That's a pretty good list and I'd probably say the same thing, MIB dies in the finale.

Ben probably feels just as bad as Jack does. When Ben was giving orders, he made horrible decisions that lead to where they were now by killing Locke and Jacob. Ben I think is perfectly comfortable now riding in the back seat and he has gotten over being power hungry. If he hadn't gotten over it he would have gone with Locke.

I can't remember, but I think I saw it addressed simply as a rumor in an article on EW Weekly. We know Juliet will be back, if she intends to keep her date for coffee with Sawyer.

Richard I'm not to sure will bite the bullet by the end. He is right on the edge for me on living and dying, but I'm slightly leaning toward him dying.

MIB though, I really have no idea. I know he'll lose at the end, but I have no idea how. Will he be destroyed, or will Jack figure out how to contain him as Jacob did? I think it would be a much worse punishment for him if he continued to live on the Island for a few thousand more years. Then again he may fear hell even more, which the Island could theoretically be resting on with Jacob's cork analogy.

I don't know, it just seems to horrible for Desmond and Hurley to die. I picture the end of the series being something like Kate, Desmond, and Hurley sailing away on the Elizabeth or something like that leaving Jack behind on the Island alone (with maybe the company of MIB). They wouldn't kill off both power couples in the series (Desmond and Penny, Sun and Jin), especially when love is becoming one of the main themes of the final season.

i see it ending up something like Jack replacing Jacob and defeating MIB but he has to stay on island, he doesn't die.I think Hurley survives and is Jack's Richard

You can't kill the jolly fat guy. Who sees dead people, to boot.

Yeah but there's at least one more aspect to it (and likely more than that) than just the Candidate (Jack) getting MIB under control: Desmond is obviously key to defeating MIB. He obviously greatly fears Desmond, and its his actions not Jack's that make MIB's fate uncertain for me.

I had a hard time putting Desmond as dead, i hope he doesnt die. I just have a feeling there will not be a lot of survivors. Lost just doesn't seem like the kinda show that has a everyone lives happily ever after ending type ending,to me
