Just read this on AICN, but apparently ABC is planning some sort of (nationwide?) event in theaters a few days before the series finale where Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will answer questions and screen different clips from the show. The details are kinda fuzzy at this point but it seems like it could be pretty interesting.

The sound is the same sound as a New York City taxi cab receipt printer. Thus, why Rose said it sounded familiar.

In the voice-over commentary for "The 23rd Psalm" on the Season 2 DVD, producer Bryan Burk confirmed that one of the Monster's sound effects is the receipt printer from a NYC taxi cab. You can hear the sound at this link

This was reaffirmed in the May 21, 2007 Official Lost Podcast, but it was clarified that the mythology of the Monster is unrelated to the cabs and was just a matter of sound effects. This sound effect was heard in the following scenes:

So how many of you guys went through "The LOST Experience"? Today is the first I've ever heard of it. Is it worth it to go through or read reveals about it?

Understand that I've watched all the episodes of LOST up until now in the last month. Pretty much everything is new to me.

Clearly, at some point MIB changed his approach toward people brought to the island. He immediately killed everyone on the Black Rock except for Richard. But allowed the 815 passengers (not to mention the Dharma Initiative) to live on the island relatively undisturbed and without much interaction with them.

A few things on this:
1. Perhaps the Black Rock was not called to the island by Jacob. Perhaps it just crashed due to the storm. MIB killed everyone because they were not suppose to be there and there were no candidates to be concerned with. He didn't kill Richard because he thought he could use him to kill Jacob.
2. In season 1, the Losties were pretty damn terrified to leave the beach and go into the jungle. If you remember, he never bothered them when they were on the beach, but everytime they went into the jungle, the chase was on. In fact, the first time we heard the smoke monster and saw the trees flying around, he stopped at the edge of the jungle.

This shows that there is some kind of barrier that prevented him from going onto the beach. I don't know if it was water like has been previously discussed, but the Losties found refuge on the beach for some reason.

I think Jacob clearly stated he brought the ship

which, in hindsight is dumb, he fricking trashed the roof to his house in the process

poor planning

I thought he said that about the ship that him and MIB saw coming in the daylight. The Black Rock couldn't have been that ship.

He said "my name is Jacob. I'm the one who brought your ship to this island."

pretty cut and dry.

later richard asks "before you brought my ship, there were others" and that's when jacob tells them that they are all dead.

he's more Rican

did you see the way he struggled with that nail? No way Jacob gets the gutters cleaned and the tar down before the next ship with that guy.

Jacob should've stood on the top of the lighthouse waving a bag of oranges over his head, he would've had that statue put back together before sundown
