First, is there a difference between a movie set in historical China and a movie set in a fantasy realm? I think So. I think You can take a few more liberties and I know You don’t agree with that.

Second, No one complained about representation when LOTR came out. Only a fringe of people complain about it now. It’s generally a beloved film.

You won’t even address the basic premise of the conversation which is, how important is race to Tolkien work? Does the whole things fall apart because a character is now black?

That’s a matter of opinion, but I don’t think character race is critical to a lot of what I like about the books.

And again, I’ve asked you before if you were pissed that the dwarves in the hobbit didn’t have brightly Colored beards and cloaks and you laughter that I compared That to skin color.

So is it about what Tolkien wrote or
