Wow that got real bad real fast. Everything that was bad in EP1 got magnified to the 10th degree in EP2. This director and cinematographer need to be tarred and feathered. This is is just visually painful to watch.
And freaking killing a sow with babies and then when they cut off its head it’s now a massive boar with huge tusks sticking out

Sick so I wasn’t at work today so I finished this up.
Final episode was five best of the series but not good enough to save it from awful directing.
Even knowing what was coming with Piggy it was still a tough watch.
Overall a pretty faithful adaption though.
5/10.

apparently the biggest complaints are technical. Really strange camerawork and blurry background shots that look AI generated.
These complaints were 100% warranted. I watched the first episode and was appalled at how bad the cinematography was. Lots of baffling decisions.
VFX are absolute shite too

I actually paused and took a picture at one point bc I was like wtf is going on with these colors. One minute the sky or trees would be green and then in the next scene everything is red. It was so odd.
Edit: imagur isn’t working to let me upload the pic.

Finished it tonight. Spoilers below:
Not a fan of how they handled Simon’s death. He wasn’t running from the his encounter with the pig head. He was running back to tell them the beast was just the dead pilot.
The bigger deviation was Ralph and Piggy helped beat him to death in the novel, so they have blood on their hands too. This series absolved them of his murder so they could remain fully sympathetic characters. I don’t think the writers really understood the novel since one of the key takeaways is even the most moral people are capable of evil given the right circumstances. Simon is the only “good” character because he is essentially Jesus, so he gets a pass.
The kid who played Jack will do well as Draco in the hbo Harry Potter show.

Agreed. Everything around Simon’s death is my only real complaint about this, other than the awful portrait mode camera work already mentioned. Overall they did a very good job with the story and the kids did very well.

Have been looking for thoughts on this series, so here's this thread. Sounds like it is worth a watch.
