Just looked at the April and May calendars, this thing is going to fricking clean up. Should be almost completely unopposed until Solo.

Deadpool 2 comes out before Solo and will most assuredly beat Avengers in its 4th weekend.

It'll have $250M by then. I could see them both being around $30-40M that weekend, but I may be vastly underrating the audience for Deadpool 2.

What the hell are you talking about man?

Avengers is gonna open to probably $200+. By its 4th weekend(deadpools 1st), it's probably gonna be in the $500Ms. And Deadpool opened to over 130M, I'd say DP2 is gonna pull around 150M opening weekend.

Your numbers are WAY off.

No IW was moved up a week to the last weekend of April. Going into its 4th weekend will be the 3rd weekend in May, Deadpool's opening. And Solo is the weekend after Deadpool.

It might only be 350-400 Million if it sucks

If it’s good then it will probably be 500 Million

Scared of competing with Deadpool.

I wouldn't say scared. It's more a matter of why not move up? There's nothing there in the last weekend of April. Why not have 3 weekends of no competition to make money vs. 2 weekends of no competition.

Now that tentpole films aren't confined to summer and winter, the whole "first weekend in May is the start of blockbuster season" doesn't hold much weight anymore.

When Solo comes out I will make a point of going to the theater to see Infinity War or Deadpool 2 again.

Per Box Office Pro, the long-range tracking for Deadpool 2 suggests it will earn an even $100 million in its first three days. In comparison, the first film grossed a then record-breaking $132 million in its debut ($152.1 million for the 4-day Presidents Day holiday). Based on the estimates, Deadpool 2 could end its domestic run with a total of $242 million, a figure that’s considerably less than the $363 million Deadpool pulled in.

It will open and perform well but it's not currently expected to be some sort of juggernaut either.

I mean, do you blame them? Infinity War (and it’s sequel) is the biggest cinematic event of all time. There’s nothing to compare it to because there’s never been a story woven together in a build to one (or rather, two) films like this...ever. Hype is off the charts

logan is the only super hero movie I’ve seen since the first two iron man movies and the Batman series. What is all the hype about with infinity war? I feel like I’ve seen more on here with regards to it than any other non Batman comic book movie. Is it just an collection of all the different characters and their stories in one movie?

The entire MCU has been building up to this story. There's been 10 years and 18 movies all leading up to this.

Thanks.

So after these are they going to basically reboot? Seems like they’re basically printing money with the current run.

Not really. Some actors will probably be gone and it’ll be different but they’ll expand if anything. More cosmic properties, the Spider-Man gallery...not to mention F4 and X-Men coming into the fold in the next few years
