But like I said when S2 was launching, it's not dead. Fincher was/is heavily involved in the day to day of Mindhunter and got burned out on the tv schedule. He missed film and wants to do his passion projects then re-examine where hes at.
He just produces LDR, hes barely involved in that one. I think/hope he comes back to Mindhunter sometime in the future. doesnt feel like hes done with it.

I liked the show but only really liked the investigation / interrogations.
The family / girlfriend stuff was boring.
Season 1 was much better than season 2 so I am not overly dismayed if it doesn't move forward.

I guess they realized the Dennis Rader long arch was gonna create a writing challenge since he wasn’t arrested until 2005. They should have used Gacy for that.

Gacy was caught a year after the year the show was set in for episode 1. Doesn’t really work for that role

Word is out that Fincher is in talks for another contract with Netflix (they're stoked over Mank doing so well). Part of the discussion is bringing Mindhunter back for a third season.

This is a pretty baseless article. He's not in talks for another contract. He is under contract.
There arent any talks for him to do another season yet. The Killer is set for a film and then series, so there's a good chunk of his time.
He also has another film in development and helping to produce a Carl Franklin series as well.

I would love for this show to make a come back. It is wonderfully done. And we all know they have been setting up BTK.
I would love to see this show run through the decades and show us how the ways and means of investigations evolved.
