With Dead Man's Walk a close second IMO. They're all great books.

Yes, agreed. Buffalo Hump was one badass indian.

When I was younger and visited my great-grandfather in Ft. Worth (he turns 100 in October ) we would always spend hours hunting for Blue Duck in his neighborhood. I was 5 or 6 and he was telling me stories of this horrible indian who would slice a man from his nuts to his chest and spill out all of his insides.

Great man my Poppy.

Only after he turned into Sam Shepard and she turned into Sissy Spacek. They kinda met in the middle.

LOL. i know, but now when watching lonesome dove i can't get that out of my head.

also, i was reading and I had no idea that out of the "lonesome dove" movies that Return to Lonesome Dove was teh only one that had zero to do with the books and that Larry McMurtry had zero input into the movie. He doesn't even recognize it.

Yeah, I think CBS just wrote and produced their own sequel. So McMurtry writes a sequel of his own and kills their central character on the second page.

Haven't watched this in a few years. Think I'll remedy that this weekend.

It's an alternate reality for sure, but it did introduce me to Reese Witherspoon. I remember being envious of that old rancher she was married to. Seemed kinda pervy, but it wasn't too uncommon for the time I guess.

I watched LD on Netflix recently because I'd be told about how amazing it is.

Its 4 episodes on Netflix and the first one (about 1.5 hours) was pretty slow, but its all about the character development. I kept watching and ended up really liking it.

I want to watch it again soon to catch things might've missed. I think the start might be more interesting when I already know more about who the characters are.

I think the first two hours are probably the best part. Not too much action, but the interaction between Gus and Call is awesome. Extremely quotable too.

Going to start this on Netflix after my last final today. How should I watch the 4 episodes? One per day or back-to-back?
