He said DEI.

Nobody mentioned DEI until page 3

And it wasn't one of the anti-wokes.

Did you not read the post you quotes?

‘Lanterns’ Finds Its John Stewart with Aaron Pierre

Aaron Pierre, the star of Netflix’s Rebel Ridge, has nabbed the plum part of Green Lantern John Stewart in DC Studios’ and HBO’s much-ballyhooed series Lanterns.

The casting caps one of the more scrutinized actor searches in some time. Not only is the show the first major TV endeavor from DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, but the role of Stewart carries much significance, as the fan-favorite comic book character was one of DC’s first Black superheroes.

The intense casting process came down to Pierre and Stephan James, who is on the festival circuit with drama The Piano Lesson and who starred in the 2016 Jesse Owens biopic Race. Both participated in screen tests, with the actors squaring off against the already cast Kyle Chandler on Thursday and Friday. Each actor had their boosters, but the final decision was made Tuesday.

I said what I said. What storyline of Jon Steward have that resonate and is popular? Seriously, I can't think of a single one. he's a steady reliable lantern but nothing about him stands out. Meanwhile if you go with the Kyle Rayner Storyline, Hal Jordan has gone crazy and butchered the Green Lantern Corp and Kyle was just a random dude chosen by the last Guardian to carry the mantle of Green Lantern.

That storyline of rebuilding the corps would resonate much more and be cinematically more interesting as people would wonder what the GLC was like in its hey day. Its basically the Star Wars storyline, the OT storyline.

If you haven't heard the Jon Steward green lantern is set in America heart land and will be a muder mystery. Frigging GREEN LANTERN is going to be a murder mystery and base around earth? How lame can it get?

Go with Kyle Rayner you get a space opera on par with BSG. Remember it was Kyle GF death who coined the now popular term "Fridging". Also out of all the Lantern solo series, Kyle was the longest running one and when they got away from him, they kept rebooting left right and center.

Heck I don't think we will even see a Skittle Squad reference until the very end of GL series.

No doubt about it, this is pretty lame. I hope it's just a head fake and they go to space in episode two and stay there.

Definitely the second best GL after Hal.

The most famous, most celebrated, most influential run of Green Lantern comics took place almost exclusively on Earth. 1970-1972.
