I watched it buzzed with a few drinks and the only times it made me jump were the reveal of the person in the bed in Brolins dream and that same person waiving at the junkie in the woods

I never understand that part. Why didn’t she curse/possess her?

Agreed though definitely a creepy scene, probably the eeriest scene in the movie

Is that rhetorical like why didn't she just do it there or are you genuinely wondering? not trying to be condescending.

Gladys had her puppet take the hair so she could curse Justine with an attack by the principal. it was part of the "spell" I thought

Saw

Weapons
Together
28 years later
Sinners
Toxic avenger
Heretic
Bring her back
The long walk

In an independent theater near my house. Weapons got the biggest pop at the end. That and the knife scene in bring her back. Love getting hammered and watching films in a theater with a cool audience

It fell into the overhyped category for me. It was fine but nothing close to the over the top love it was getting. Nothing I'll think twice about wanting to watch again.

I personally didn't care for the over-the-top goofy ending, but the rest of the movie was solid. A good watch for sure.

Obviously you don't have to be a witch to perform the magic, since Alex was able to turn the spell against his aunt.

Or Alex inherited some of his aunt's powers??

Same, ending sucked me completely out of the movie, especially how long the chase went on.

Still thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Very solid B+

Im trying to however understand the evil old bitch's reasoning for doing what she was doing? Was she becoming stronger as people died or got possessed?

She steals energy.

She's very old. People stopped saying "consumption" in the 1800s.

Yea, it is one of the oldest tropes of Witches that they steal the life energy of people in order to have unnaturally long lives and that children/innocents have the most potent energy. She was feeding off of everyone she had in the house that she hadn't snapped their stick for.

That was the kid's mom that actually cut her hair in the car, not the witch.

Gladys used her hair as part of the ritual to try and get her boss to kill her. Same with the kitchen scene with the principal and his husband. The hair was the target for the possessed to kill.

it was alright for what it was, felt like a small film a husband and wife made together..but, that makes sense too.

I was about 4 porters in by the time the 1st act was over, so I enjoyed it regardless. Got a free poster with it too.

Meh, it was ok. 3rd act fell apart, glad twist didn’t involve a school shooting for social commentary. The rifle 2:17(2 survivors, 17 victims in the classroom) dream sequence had me worried

There wasn't a shooter, but it definitely felt like social commentary to me.

Foreshadowing was 100% there, film was even named weapons, wtf was the point of the giant rifle anyway?
