It makes me sad that more people have seen sons of anarchy (let alone confuse it for great tv) than have seen the Shield, which built that network and is vastly superior

Jesus Christ.

(It made me start saying "Jesus Christ" a lot, but just in SOA threads.)

The Shield was a much better show.

I agree, but I started to watch The Shield again recently and maybe it is just me but it has not aged well. I can't imagine how bad SOA will look in 10 years.

SPOILERS

Have you gotten to the part where the club makes a new alliance? It's right after Jax has to make a difficult decision.

I was always baffled Harley advertised during this show, which did not by any stretch of my imagination romanticize riding bikes. Jax's bike was as incidental to his scumbaggery as the knife dangling from his belt, his tats, his rings, etc. The more the show dragged on, the more I understood these guys were all pathetic losers too stupid and/or delusional to realize their "family" not only has no meaning, but has destroyed all their lives. Really made me want to go out and buy a motorcycle.

Only got the chance to watch the first episode as of now and it really intrigued me! Can't wait to watch more of it! What are the board's thoughts of it?
season 2 & 3 it turns into a female drama show... picks up again for S4 and S5 then falls off a cliff after

I got to the middle of season 5. Is it worth watching the rest?

I enjoyed the first season and then absolutely hated the Belfast crap... Then there was a lull... But I actually enjoyed season 6 and 7... You have to take the show for what it is... Entertainment and absence of reality ... Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ, I think so - lots of "stuff" happens. I think show concludes as well as could be expected, but I'm a fan of SOA (even with all of its warts and all).

Still haven't watched the final season but will when it's on netflix. I kept asking myself why Jax was always yelling.

Entertaining as hell. Way over the top but I enjoyed the hell out of it

This

It got so bad after the first two seasons but it was still must-watch every week for me. Something about it was really addicting.

Pretty much all this. Not a great show by any stretch, but extremely entertaining. Similar to entourage in the fact that it's a fun time.
