You're not the only one. I thought it was mediocre on its own and then coupled with the hype made me hate it.

The soundtrack made zero sense in the context of movie. It seemed so out of place.

The storyline was so bland and hackneyed. Misunderstood tough guy stands up for single woman and kid.

The random violence in the elevator was so out of place and didn't fit in with the rest of the movie.

Better movies in the last 10 years off the top of my head
Hotel Rwanda
The Departed
The Dark Knight
Shutter Island
O Brother, Where art Thou
Up
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Ok so you hate the movie, but yet you can only name like 9-10 movies off the top of your head you like better?

I knew that you didn't like it before I clicked on this thread. It's not an LCD movie. It's easy to tell which posters will like this and which probably won't based on post quality

Uhhh, I can watch it just fine on my LCD TV. Not sure why having a plasma would make a difference

No expectations = you give it a 8-10

Go into TDKR with expectations for best movie of all time = you giving it a 5.

This is exactly why I don't go into movies with much expectations. I try to not hear too much about a movie before it comes out. I didn't watch one DKR trailer before the movie. I will do the same for Django Unchained

I loved Drive too FWIW

That was an absolute horrible movie... Terrible acting on top of a stupid plot... Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this

No, there are plenty who agree with you. It seems to be a pretty polarizing movie; you either love or you hate it. I enjoyed it but the ending was a bit of a let down. I would have preferred a Shawshank-type ending but that would have been too predictable/sappy which I prefer.

I can understand not thinking a movie is "good", whatever that means

but to think it's "awful", I just dont understand

There is enough of a build and enough suspense to at least entertain. And the performances are magnificent. Brooks was superb.

I can understand hating the plot, or not being a fan of the music, etc. But there is enough there to prevent the "hate" it's getting, IMO

I really think not enough people go into movies to be entertained anymore. It seems like way too many just wait to point out every imperfection or perceived flaw, then run to their keyboards. I'm a movie snob, but I do just about everything I can to like a movie. If I don't like a movie, I also don't have the anger akin to "the movie raped someone I knew."

I agree completely

But my one exception to this is Paranormal Activity
That movie raped everyone I know and I hate it with a passion
