Eh, that story would have been lame regardless.

The story is much more important than the rating. Some more cussing and maybe some tits wouldnt have made that movie any better. The Dark Knight was twisted and dark and worked just fine with a PG-13 rating.

That being said, this is the way to go with Joker.

This - could give zero shits how "dark" it is. There is no direct correlation between dark and good.
