So I got pretty close to the end, and the stream froze up on me. As stated before, I was a big fan of the first one. And I've gotta admit, for the most part, I like this one so far. I could do without the music to be honest, but I don't think it's nearly as bad as some are making it out to be, and I consider myself to be a pretty tough critic. Also I've never found Lady Gaga to be all that attractive and she's certainly not dolled up in this role, but something about her really does it for me in this movie. Anyway, I'll see if I can get the stream up and running again.
Edit: OK, got it back up - time to watch the final 20 minutes or so.

Yeah, the ending in my opinion was pure shite. Don't read the rest of this post if you don't want to know what happens.
So bascially in court Arthur drops the 'Joker' persona and says he just wants to "blow it all up" and start all over again. Lee (Harley) gets upset and leaves, because Joker was who she loved, not Arthur. Now in my mind, I thought for sure it was just a ruse and when he said "blow it all up" that was her cue to go outside and light the fuse to help him escape. But I was wrong.
Instead, an unknown person (I guess it could have been her but it would make no sense) blows up the courthouse and Arthur escapes. He encounters Lee on the staircase from the original film, but is no longer interested in him and leaves him there. The cops surround him and bring him back to the asylum. A guard - with whom Arthur had become friendly with, but who Arthur badmouthed (along with the other Arkham guards) in court - tells him he has a visitor. Then some random no-name prisoner encounters him in the hall and tells him a joke about a washed-up clown and shanks him a bunch of times, apparently killing him. It felt like the entire movie they were planning for another sequel, but then at the end the director changed his mind and decided to kill him off. There were so many directions the ending could have gone and this was probably the worst one. Which sucks, because other than the musical crap, I actually enjoyed the rest.

Not sure if anyone wants to spoil this but I’m a very casual comic book movie guy that grew up with Keatons Batman. I guess I always assumed Joker became joker when he fell into a chemical waste plant.
Does this storyline completely go out on its own if the ending is true? That doesn’t make any sense.

This Joker is loosely based on one of a hundred possible origins to the character that has been printed.
But they take that story, and then just do Taxi Driver
That is the first movie
Phoenix is amazing
That was the 1st movie, not entirely sure bout the 2nd

Also throughout the movie she keeps saying they’re gonna build a mountain together but then there’s never any payoff… it felt like it was leading in that direction and then scrapped the whole idea. I would’ve been much happier with the generic ending of Arthur & Lee escaping together

Don't care
When I discovered Lady Gaga was involved, that eliminated any possibility of me seeing it.
