Am I leaving ANYTHING out?

well of course just most obvious theme behind the whole show.

goodman's daughter hated Baton Rouge, therefore the creator of the show hates baton rouge. it's all there, man!

That's fantastic and all but my point still stands.

I don't know what Goodman is so depressed about - at least to the point of suicide. He still has his old job, fully functioning home and his family.

Can I just finally climb on the bandwagon of the "NOTHING EVERY HAPPENS ON TREME!" posters?

Me too. I watched the first three episodes and last night. It was easy to see I didn't miss much.

Didn't they show Goodman walking away from the rail?

But you were right, I missed that point in my summation.

Ha!My poor thread on Creighton has become the normal hate Treme thread.

I agree that he should not have any reason to off himself. He has money and a healthy family and an undamaged home.

He may actually have survivors guilt which can be bad.

Damn. Thet didn't show him in next weeks preview?

I wish that black lady that lost her son would kill herself. She's a bitch.

Saying nothing ever happens on this show is more a fact than "bitching".

They certainly chose some small stories to move the plot along when there were plenty of big ones.

I really think season 2 needs to add someone deep in the city government.

yeah i was thinking this the other day as well.

i think it would be a good addition. it wouldn't be real N.O. without some shady politics.

they showed the previews to next week, with someone walking up to his wife and her having an "OMG" look on her face

i figured it was either Goodman, who went missing for a day or so

or a police man telling her that he is dead

but i have a feeling they set us up to think he committed suicide, by showing him disappear on the ferry then show his car right there at the end.

but i agree with Deacon, more shite needs to start happening to save this show. I know True Blood is in season 3, but last nights episode was more exciting that nearly a whole season of Treme.

Per wikipedia:

quote:

Simon has stated that the series would explore New Orleans culture including and beyond the music scene to encompass political corruption, the public housing controversy, the criminal-justice system, clashes between police and Mardi Gras Indians, and the struggle to regain the tourism industry after the storm.

I guess we shall see (if you are still watching by then)

He didn't kill himself! Yes, they set it up to look like a suicide, but I'm assuming he was mugged/robbed by those 2 guys... the guy who bummed him a cigarette and someone else.

He got the cigarette from the guy then went to the edge rail. The guy turned around and came back to see Goodman not there thinking he jumped over. When he really just turned and walked down the side.

whatever you think. but those 2 dudes were acting shady and I'm sticking with the "he got robbed" story.

watch the episode again, they clearly set it up for a suicide in the end.

No doubt, especially with him teaching about the Awakening at Tulane. The main character in that book drowns herself.
