Gunn made it about our politics
Lefties started calling Superman an illegal alien, to own the right.
I pointed out that his status is actually covered in the source material.
In the source material, he is adopted by 2 US citizens, and is therefore a US citizen. He was never an illegal immigrant. He was a refugee for a few hours, then a citizen.
I wasn't using US law to reconcile, I was using the source material.

I pointed out that his status is actually covered in the source material.

I never looked at Superman as an immigrant either. Yes, he is an alien, but he was adopted by an American family and in all tense and purpose was raised a 'Murican. I've always viewed Superman as a symbol of American exceptionalism. James Gunn is trying to retcon for some woke kudos.

Watched Chris Gore, a right wing guy, talking about the interview,
he said in relation to the movie the interview is rage bait, and ignore it.
He said the guy saying it is political revolves around Superman being asked to stop a war between "not Israel" and "not Palestine"
Big nothing burger.
This is why I say I will wait and see.
Because I actually fricking look with an open mind.
