What a shame they are actively destroying a cinematic icon.

Broccoli and Bond producers have done a really poor job managing the franchise given the product they have. They keep overreacting to other franchises like Bourne, MI, and even Nolan’s Batman movies. They are really insecure about Bond being branded obsolete that they are making him obsolete. They are scared to make just a regular Bond movie where he simply goes on a mission. Every Bond girl is now sold as “not your typical Bond girl” because God forbid you have a damesel in distress. Bond goes rogue or retires in every movie because you can't just have loyal agent that serves Queen & Country. They are obsessed with cinematography over quality stories.

EON has zero confidence in their intellectual property and it shows. It's probably why they can only squeeze out two Bond movies per decade when they used to roll them out every 2-3 years.
