Im sure it’s been discussed but man it’s so good.

I watch this movie every Christmas Eve since I was 10 years old. I thought it was boring until I was about 15 and started to appreciate it.

Now I’m in my 20s and can’t watch the last 10 minutes without my eyes getting watery.

What an achievement to create a movie with a message that so many people can appreciate 80 years later.

It can’t be stated enough how great Jimmy Stewart’s performance is in this movie

It’s crazy to think it was a box office flop and wasn’t popular until way later when the copyright ran out.

And even with it being a flop it was still nominated for best picture that year.

By far the best Christmas movie of all time, and honestly one of my favorite movies overall. I’m still fairly young, but like you I didn’t really appreciate it till I was 15 or so years old. The meaning behind the movie is such an important sentiment.

Yeah, this movie really hits home once you get older and realize you’re not going to conquer the world.

It’s my favorite movie. We usually watch it Christmas Eve Eve so we can enjoy it without family, church, etc. Lose it every time they read the telegram from Sam Wainright because that’s when you know all is good.

By the way, Wainright agrees to give George up to $330K in 2023 dollars with no questions asked. That’s a hell of a friend.

Well yeah...

Because it appeals to our life being not what we hoped and dreamed...

But...

It ain't so bad after all.

When George comes home and is ugly to his wife and kids because work is shitty, it makes me so sad. I’ve done that kinda shite before and it makes me guilty as frick.

Agreed. It gets better every year. The scene after Harry gets back home from college and they’re celebrating his marriage. George is outside smoking and hears a train whistle leaving in the distance. You see him look up and he feels his dreams are also leaving the station too. Whole movie hits hard.

We just finished it as we do every Christmas Eve. My 17 year old said “Man that movie is just perfect”. Then as always I made them watch the SNL list ending.

It's been a tradition to watch it on NBC Christmas Eve since I was born. It's such a special movie to me I watch it exactly once a year to make Christmas more special. "My big brother George, the richest man in town"...water works every dang year

George Bailey was a nice guy but was sub-prime lender with poor internal controls and credit management

The regulators should have closed him down years before

There is not a person alive that has not done that. It should make us feel guilty but family is forgiving and everyone understands why it happens.

Just apologize and move on baw. It is just part of life. They will do it to you at some point.
