I think True Blood killed it with ridicule.

Have you ever wanted to see Corey Feldman as a transvestite vampire? I know the answer is yes.

You’re welcome.

For the more recent ones, I really like True Blood. All seasons though the last couple were not as good. Still pretty good though.

Vampire Diaries would be next for the first couple of season then I got bored and quit watching.

Could not get into the Originals.

Twilight was total meh. I watched the first few, thought ok, not terrible not good. Have seen enough.

If it meant getting to still see this fine woman on TV they could have kept The Vampire Diaries on forever...

fox has said that a Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot has been discussed. but that it will only happen when Joss Whedon is ready

that makes sense Buffy is one of Whedons babies it only makes sense fox would want him to have a say in a potential reboot. cw currently has reboots of charmed and roswell in the pilot stage I'm kind of hoping both of those (if ordered to series) are successful enough to help kickstart a buffy reboot

btw pop tv is currently showing mini marathons of buffy on Friday now you know what my tv is tuned into on friays

Netflix plans to keep it going.

quote:

Netflix has given a straight-to-series order to a series adaptation of the “V-Wars” book series written by Jonathan Maberry.

The streaming giant has given the drama series a 10-episode first season order. Ian Somerhalder will star as Dr. Luther Swann, who enters a world of horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne, into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these vampires. Swann races against time to understand what’s happening, while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of the vampires.

The role marks Somerhalder’s latest major role in a vampire drama. He previously starred in The CW’s series adaptation of “The Vampire Diaries” as Damon Salvatore.

then when 2008 rolled around we had the Twilight saga Vampire Diaries True Blood The Originals

Most of the angsty vampire movies were crap. The movie version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was pretty bad but the series was awesome. There were a handful of lesser known vampire-related films released from 2010-2013 that were very good, such as Let Me In, Midnight Son, and Afflicted. The latter two were interesting in that they dealt with vampirism as an adult-onset genetic condition and an infectious disease, respectively.

If you're trying to scratch a vampire itch then Ethan Hawke's "Daybreakers" isn't awful. There are more Vamps than humans and the blood supply is running low. Was also a 2009 film.

Finally, I have nerd cred and can speak on the topic. Apparently Joss has no control whatsoever. As I understood it, he had to sign away most of the rights to some couple to get that (awful) movie made. Can't recall their names, but they were in the credits for the show's entire run. So they're looking to reboot because, well, they can, and Joss wants nothing to do with them, at least right now.
