I didn't watch after Michael Scott left the show. But the re-watch is pretty good. The Jim Pam love story is very meeeeh though. Dwight's character was really well done throughout the whole series.

That’s how it became popular the first time. The series took off when people discovered it on iTunes and were able to watch it on their iPods and such.

That may have been how you found it, but this was a major NBC primetime comedy that everyone's dad was talking about. The ratings were solid from the second season on, even after it started sucking.

It wasn’t major when it first started out. I watched it from the beginning but it is kind of known that iTunes/Video iPod is what gave the show its first boost after it had kind of a middling start.

I guess I can quote an NBC executive if that helps you out:

quote:

"I'm not sure that we'd still have the show on the air" without the iTunes boost, says Angela Bromstead, president of NBC Universal Television Studio, which owns and produces "The Office." "The network had only ordered so many episodes, but when it went on iTunes and really started taking off, that gave us another way to see the true potential other than just Nielsen. It just kind of happened at a great time."

We’re into the semantics now. My point was the The Office was kind of the internet’s first “binge” show. People got Apple devices and watched a bunch of shows in succession. By doing so, they got to pick up on the depth of the humor in the show.

I gotcha.

It had a weird start too with the short first season.

It's so weird seeing Oscar on State Farm commercials and Erin being one of the new Sonic girls.

Almost want it to come back so they can get regular gigs again

I'm still conflicted about whether or not I want to see a revival of the show. I know it will likely be a disappointment yet will have its moments. Mostly I think they should leave it alone but that won't prevent me from watching whatever they end up putting together.

I’d love a revival but it’s only worthwhile if Michael is back

you're literally the 1%. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it overated it makes your taste shitty.

Exactly. I can respect someone's opinion if they don't like something, but to say it is overrated is asinine.
