I still think Reservoir Dogs is his best, but that was the first QT movie I saw. I think the first time you see Tarantino, especially when he was new, it was refreshing. Then he kept recycling the same tricks for a decade and I just got sick of it, to the point that I loathe Kill Bill.
Watch it, keep an open mind, but it won't live up to expectations. Part of its appeal was that this was most people's first exposure to QT. And before there were a million copycats.

Truth. Most don't know that essentially, Tarantino is a brilliant and clever copycat. It's his mold and he never does it maliciously. It's more about HIS love for film than anything else.
Exactly. And he straight up admits it in interviews. Which is awesome, because I think that he does a good job paying homage to those films.

im a big fan of both RD and PF but i dont see how someone could claim RD is better than PF.
Yes PF gets slow at times (most of parts with Bruce Willis, sadly. ) But the all the scenes with Jackson, Travolta, Rhames, are cinematic gold.
RD is one of my favorite movies of all time as well, i just don't think it is better than PF.

love this movie but if you've never seen it you must have been a hermit for the last 15 years

I thought Samuel L. was great in it and I'm really not that big a fan of his in anything else.
I liked alot of it, some great scenes, but Travolta is unbearable for me and the thing I can't get past is this movie revived his career...IMHO the most overrated actor in the business.

Motherfricker...I dare you to say what again!
You have to see it.....its the movie that jumped started Samuel L. and revived Travoltas....one guy said it right earlier.....lots of quotes for you. The beginning of the movie will hook you.....

Its a classic and very influential movie, however, if you have never seen it, there is no way it can live up to the expectations that have been heaped on you. Since it has been so copied, it will likely not have the same impact on you. It also does not sound like you have an open mind about it. However, if you liked RD and IG, I don't see why you would not like PF.
This is 100% on point.

Keep in mind he was in Jurassic Park (in a pretty major role) the year before Pulp Fiction.

quote:I agree on the Samuel L Jackson part. Guy is an aweful over hyped actor. That being said the movie is good and he fit this part because he got to yell like he does in all his movies, but here the part called for it.
but im just not a huge Uma Thurman/John Travolta/Samuel L. fan
