The premise is good, but the movie is horrible. However, it's not "Heartbreak Ridge" bad.

ETA: Why I watch HBR everytime it's on TV I'll never know.

I liked the movie. I am very much Caucasian, so I won't defend Spike to the death, but I enjoyed it. I have come to accept that I have shitty taste, so there is no need in pointing that out.

I guess everyone has their taste in movies, but I still rank it rock bottom. At least Pearl Harbor had somewhat of historical accuracies.

Pearl Harbor is an insult to America so I'd nominate that one.

I've never seen this movie, and I've heard from so many that it's bad... so I never will.

But I'm just curious. Could someone actually go into specifics about how it fails? What is it that gets you all to turn it off after 20 minutes?

I didn't like we were soldiers because it was suppose to take place in the countryside of Vietnam and you could see trees that were native to the southeast united states. They just did a terrible job with the environment. It looked like my back yard. They filmed alot it in Georgia didn't they?

That plus Mel gibsons retarded look on his face and the dude from American pie ruined it for me

Are you talking about Miracleat St. Anna?

If so, I think the main thing is that it shows white people with no motivation other than to kill black soldiers.

It seems as if there was no screenplay or plot to this movie before it began shooting. I think Spike just said "Hey lets make an epic war movie that shows how black soldiers were treated by white officers and we'll just play it by ear scene to scene." This movie had no direction whatsoever.

I agree that the trailer made it seem that it had a chance to be a very good WWII movie, but after the first 20 minutes, you realize that you have been sucked into Spike Lee's portrayal of racism in the 40's. But besides that, the group of colored Soldiers that the movie revolved around were pointless and had no real purpose but to just be on the screen and say random retarded stuff. And the very last scene will make you

YES. Pearl Harbor is so fricking bad. If MaSA is any worse than that then god help us.

Windtalkers and The Patriot were both utterly terrible.

MaSA is much worse. At least with Miracle, there were a couple of scenes with some awesome ta-tas to look at.

Windtalkers did have plenty of cheesy moments with Cage, but the Patriot had two great battle scenes that showed somewhat of how war was fought in those days.

I don't care what anyone says, Miracle is the worst!

Still don't understand the extreme amounts of hate for this movie. Were people expecting an epic period piece or something?
