Is Hulu about to lose 7 Discovery channels when Discovery + starts streaming?

Discovery + starts streaming January 4th. It will have HGTV, food network, TLC, ID, Own, Animal Planet, and Discovery Channel.

Will Hulu lose the ability to stream all of those channels? No one here can admit they don’t love to binge some house hunters every now and then.

Discovery + is $4.99 a month with ads and $6.99 a month without ads. I won’t get it no matter what, that’s too many services.

I doubt it. Hulu will probably still have a contract with them.

I didn't even know they were coming out with their own streaming service.

Without looking at it first, I assume they aren't doing what they should and make 4k available.

They all have their ups and downs. These streaming services are going to start pushing people back to cable/dish soon if they keep doing this though.

I'm sure YoutubeTV will eventually.

This is going to come to a breaking point as I would almost rather pay $200 per month in one bill that $70 for internet and 10 different $7 dollar Bill's per month. We currently use YoutubeTV. If they lose the channels in that list I'll be pretty frustrated after just losing Tennis channel and the fox Sports regional channels with no downward price adjustment to accomodate

They just dumped FoxSports and would enjoy an alternative to their foolishness

Riddle me this: January 4, no more Discovery channels without paying for the streaming? Or will they still be on Directv?

If you have Spectrum internet look at their Essentials streaming service. $15/month for live TV and has all the Discovery networks, bunch of Viacom owned networks, History, etc. Pretty good lineup especially for the price. No sports channels though if thats what you’re looking for.

ETA: pretty sure the service is only available to Spectrum internet subscribers

I can admit it. HGTv is complete garbage now. And HH is the rotting banana peel on top of the pile.
