frick. YES.

If it lives up to its potential and the insanely high bar set by its first season then it will be up there with The Wire, Breaking Bad and The Sopranos before it finishes its run.

Its going to be extremely hard to live up to that first season though. I'm honestly not sure how they're going to do it.

Homeland's first season was better than any season of BB.

Yes it is definitely worth watching. It's not 7 Emmys good (I think that's how many it won), but its very good and worth the watch.

Best show on Showtime, not as good as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, but very close.

I'm looking forward to season 2 fa sho.

I know, right.

BB hijack

BB is only one of the most well written and acted shows on TV now or at anytime in recent memory.

It is on par with the greats, The Wire, The Sopranos, and maybe a handful of other shows.....so far (the ending will be crucial).

I see 'Gus' on shows like Revolution and Once Upon a Time and I cannot believe it is the same actor.

/BB hijack

But, its different strokes for.different folks, jeez that is so cliche. Regardless of whether you like BB or not, Homeland is decfinitely worth a watch. If for no other reason than the see Claire Daines' fine arse and Brody's hot arse wife.

I think the first season of Homeland was better than the first season of everyone of those shows with the exception of Game of Thrones. However I'm not going to lie Game of Thrones probably only gets a bye because I'm a huge "A Song of Ice and Fire" fanboy.

I can't remember a show with a better first season than Homeland and Game of Thrones. I just hope Homeland can live up to that bar. For some reason I'm skeptical, no thats not the right word. I'm legitimately concerned that it will fall flat on its face trying. I hope like hell I'm wrong and I'm not sure why I think that, but for some reason I just don't see Showtime having the capability of topping that.

It has been so long since I've watched season 1 of BB that I can't recall a whole lot, other than I didn't start watching it until it was a cpl episodes in. I'm waiting until it is all over to watch it all again from start to finish. BB has gotten stronger with each passing season though.

The tier one dramas usually do seem to start out slowly, at least compared to the following seasons, because they have to do so much character introduction. GoT was especially bad about this, but it still managed to have a good freshman season.

I find it amusing that when Homeland was airing its first season, there was hardly a peep about it on this board IIRC. Then, it racks up at the Emmys and now there are diehard fans coming out of the woodwork.

If you're bored sometime, and can get the search function to work, go back and look at some of the early Homeland threads....it won't take long to read them.

There wasn't even a season long thread I don't think.

You should go back and watch the second or third episode of breaking bad and then immediately afterward go watch the last episode of this past season and marvel at the difference in Walt. Its fricking incredible.

Well get ready because GoT is not even close to being done introducing characters and building up.

Oh I remember

I've been watching Homeland since the pilot. It flew completely under the radar on this board.

The premise sounds good but unfortunately it's a showtime show. I assume it has lots of language/nudity, right?

some nudity and some bad language. How big of a pussy are you?

The writing on Homeland is top-notch. Even though Brody is a villain and a terrorist the writing and the acting by Damian Lewis actually has you rooting for him to succeed.

it was one of the more intense shows, episode to episode, I have probably watched

It went like 12 episodes with almost NOTHING happening. It was quite boring. The storyline is fine but it is not what you're making it out to be.

Yes it is. I just watched the entire series for the first time(BB) and while it is good, Homelands first season is the best I've ever seen.

you might throw a spoiler out, considering prospective show watchers will likely be coming here to see if the show is any good.

meh...I didn't start watching until I switched to direct tv and had showtime. I feel like showtime shows will tend to fly under the radar a bit compared to some of the more readily available series.
